Lamia Bale Lands The Laurels Classic

Lamia Bale recorded her second victory within the space of 10 days when she took out this afternoon's Group Two at Park.

Drawn in box six, the brindle daughter of and Maple Bale began well before being outpaced by the speedy Lady Ronray (7) who assumed the lead around the first turn.

As Lady Ronray crossed to the fence racing through the catching pen, Lamia Bale was checked and lost ground, but was still able to hold onto second ahead of Kerrigan Bale (4) racing down the back.

Despite setting up a sizeable break as she neared the home turn, Lady Ronray started to get a little weary, enabling the super strong Lamia Bale to hook to her outside turning for home and dash by her in the run to the line.

Lamia Bale scored by just over half a length at the finish in a quick 29.45. Lady Ronray held on for second while Kerrigan Bale ran third.
