Malone In Hot Water Over Race Name

on 11 October, 2008 conducted an into an application by Mr. Paul Malone (Invermay, Vic) to register a racing name of a greyhound which was received at the GRV Office on 6 August, 2008. Mr. Malone did not attend the Inquiry.

Pursuant to GRV Local Racing Rule 46.1, Stewards proceeded with the Inquiry in Mr. Malone's absence. Relevant paperwork from GRV Members Services was tabled at the Inquiry.

After considering the evidence, Stewards charged Mr. Paul Malone with breach of GAR86(q) in that he did apply to register an inappropriate racing name for a greyhound which was detrimental to the image of greyhound racing.

No plea was entered.

Stewards found Mr. Paul Malone guilty as charged and fined him the sum of $200.
