Rellim Rosie Headlines Star Studded Western District Sprint Heats

The inaugural final to be run over 390 metres is one of the richest sprint races on the Victorian racing calendar.

Rellim Rosie, the current track and distance record holder at Ballarat, has drawn a suitable Box 3 draw in heat five on the program.

“She loves the rails and we are very happy with her box draw” trainer said.

Rellim Rosie has been a very consistent performer, having already chalked up fifteen career victories.

With two wins and a third placing from her three starts at the track and distance, the daughter of has rightfully been installed as the $2.90 pre post favourite for her heat.

“We have freshened her up for a tilt at this race.”

“She's a super quick chaser. If she can lead or be near them she should be hard to beat.”

At her last three race starts Rellim Rosie has recorded a win and two seconds.

But there have been excuses for her narrow losses at and .

In one of the most open heats on the program other chances include Sheylea, Selsi Flyer, and interstate visitor Common Cold.

Both Sheylea and Common Cold have won their last four race starts, whilst Selsi Flyer is a quick beginner who has not been out of a place in his last seven race starts.

In other heats the favoured runners are Katie's Tears (Heat 1), (Heat 2), Chainsaw (Heat 3), Hot Price (Heat 4) and Dan Flack (Heat 6).

The winners and two fastest second placed greyhounds from tonight's heats will advance to the $21,000 final to be run next Wednesday night.

Meanwhile, the twelve race program also includes the final of the Tony's on High Catering Grade 5 Final to be run over 550 metres.

Brown will be hoping that his youngster can reproduce that form in the final, which will only be her eighth race start.

Seabrook Lass has drawn awkwardly in Box 6 for the final, but is generally slow out of the boxes.
