Victorian National Sprint Championship Nominations For The Meadows

A total of 53 nominations have been received for the State Sprint Championship heats to be conducted at The Meadows over 525 metres on August 6, with the Victorian State final decided on August 13.

The winner of the State Sprint final from Victoria will then take on the country's best sprinters in the 1 at on August 25, this year worth $75,000 to the winner.

Victoria will be hoping to return to the winners' circle this year, with the state last claiming victory with in 2005.

Some of the standout sprinters nominated include the likes of – who will start favourite in this Saturday night's Hudson Pacific Maturity Classic – and the Robert Britton-trained Symmetry, a greyhound with prizemoney levels already exceeding a quarter of a million dollars.

The Wheeler family are again well represented, with a whopping 21 greyhounds nominated for the Victorian sprint series, led by champ Radley Bale and recent Geelong track record holder Dyna Tron.

Group racing at The Meadows continues this Saturday night with the running of the Group 3 and the Group 1 Hudson Pacific Maturity Classic.
