Wins Keep Adding Up For Bookkeeper

Ultra consistent chaser Bookkeeper took his prizemoney past the $100,000 mark by taking out the Cup Night Middle Distance race at Park On Thursday.

The son of and led from pillar to post in an imperious display of front running to land the event by four lengths in a sizzling 34.04 from Dashing Man (Box 5), with Cintiarna (Box 8) three quarters of a length further back in third.

The Glen Dainton trained black dog took his career record to fifteen wins from just thirty six starts with a further ten placings to boot. It was his third win over the 595 metre trip at Sandown Park, a distance which he has only missed a place once in nine outings.

Sent out as $3.10 favourite, Bookkeeper began rapidly from Box 3, carving out a smart first section of 9.01 and had punters feeling confident as he tore past the post the first time. From then on it was a case of “how far” as Bookkeeper left the chasers in his wake with the others unable to abbreviate the margin.

The 33 kilogram dog is in a rich vein of form and has not missed a place in his last 12 starts which have also yielded no less than eight wins. The future certainly looks bright for this middle distance star.
