On Coin’s Young Star Classic In Race Record Time
On Coin has taken out Cannington's Group 3 Movember Young Stars Classic in race record time on Saturday night.
WA's fastest home bred dog clocked a blistering 30.10 over the 530 metre distance. The red brindle dog jumped from box two, paying $2.20 for the win.
Linda Britton's Te Amo, who had the red rug and favouritism beat On Coin out of the boxes; landing herself ahead of the field. Burzynski put himself in the race early, jumping with Te Amo but was held wide and checked to the back of the field.
On Coin stuck to the rains early on, finding himself in third position with every chance of the win. He took the lead from Te Amo at the 700metre boxes and didn't look back.
Te Amo was; as strong as she could be, was denied any chance of victory with On Coin bolting away to win by ten and half lengths.
David Hobby's Luba Monelli came from a long way back to run a strong third.
The win took away from the disappointment for trainer John Crossley having to scratch his second entrant Celtic Coin.
Son of Primo Uno – West On Lee put his 18th win on the cards and increased his earnings to $130,000.
Zelemar Fever put in yet another impressive performance, stopping the clock at 30.27, the second fastest time of the night. Making it her fourth consecutive win.
