$150 Fine For Forgetful Greyhound Trainer
Stewards heard evidence from Darren Petersen (Registered Trainer), one other licensed person and tabled a report from Stewards Administration Supervisor – Ms. Lee Fahry.
After hearing the evidence, Stewards charged Mr. Darren Petersen with breach of GAR86(o) in that he negligently failed to withdraw “Classic Miles” from Race 1 at Bendigo on 12 March, 2009 having full knowledge that the greyhound had been transferred interstate on the 8th March, 2009.
Classic Millie has been transferred to New South Wales greyhound trainer Geoff Sheather and was entered for a 346m mixed event at Forbes on the 15th March 2009. Classic Millie did not incur a 10 day stand down, enabling her to race at Forbes, subsequently finishing second.
Mr. Petersen pleaded guilty to the charge.
Stewards found Mr. Petersen guilty as charged and fined him the sum of $150.
