In the twilight of an illustrious career marked by resilience and triumph, Orchestrate, the reigning 2022 Group 1 Brisbane Cup victor, has regrettably hung up his racing collar.

On a seemingly ordinary Wednesday trial at Albion Park, Orchestrate suffered a back muscle injury, tragically leading to the curtains being drawn on his racing career.

Orchestrate only recently capped off a stellar Group 1-winning season to be named the 2022 Queensland Greyhound of the Year.

Trained by Tony Brett, Orchestrate solidified his standing as one of Queensland's leading chasers, notching up 10 victories from just 20 starts in his 2022 campaign.

Orchestrate, by Barcia Bale out of Speculate, had been on a determined path to secure a consecutive Brisbane Cup victory.

He had been off the racing scene since an injury during the Group 1 Gold Bullion heat at Albion Park, back on January 26th.

In the wake of the recent trial, Tony Brett, Orchestrate's trainer, and syndicate chief, Tom Kinnear, held deliberations regarding the greyhound's future.

The consensus? A dignified retirement to stud.

Orchestrate, an undeniable champion, basked in the glory of his 2022 victory in the $525,000 Group 1 Brisbane Cup, besting his kennelmate, Just A Sort, and the Victorian luminary, Photo Man.

Orchestrate's racing career has been nothing short of spectacular.

He raced a commendable 52 times, boasting 24 victories and 17 placings, amassing a staggering $574,360 in earnings.

The accolades don't end there.

Bred and raced by Tom Kinnear and his family, Orchestrate clinched the 2022 Group 1 Brisbane Cup, in a quinella for Tony Brett, leaving Just A Sort and Photo Man in his wake.

His trophy cabinet also boasts the Origin Sprint, Group 3 , the Listed Albion Park , and the Australia Day Trophy.

He also came second in the Group 3 Origin Sprint, Group 3 Super Sprinters, Consolation, and was a finalist in the Group 1 Gold Bullion.

He finished third in the 2022 Classic.

The next chapter for Orchestrate is clear – a promising stud career awaits him.
