The Mummel trainer didn’t walk into the winners circle until the halfway point of the 12 race card but from there it was a showers of victories with Berella Shilo (25.33), Licence To Dance (34.78), Berella Laura (18.13) and Berella Ciata (25.64) all posting three plus length wins.
Berella Shilo probably the pick of the bunch working hard to pick up early leader Plow Master in the Bat’s Fruit Cherry Cup Final over the 440 metre trip, before kicking away to a five length win to return $3.30
The night also produced something special for Burra trainer Peter Warner, who’s Forgotten Years took out the Climate Doctor 0-1win Final over the short course in 18.12.
The Black bitch showing early toe to clear first turn trouble, scoring a 1 ¼length win and provide Warner with his first career final victory after just three attempts.
Warner taking the time to acknowledge those who had assisted him, including Carwoola trainer Jimmy Coleman, and his family.
The remainder of the program offering up some good value to lucky punters, with big wins to Stryker’s Dream (Trevor Peck), Schiemer (Shannon Smith), Miss Cribraltar (Gary Royal) and Road Ahead (Neil Staines) all paying upwards of $5.80.
The big winners off set by some good value favourites Price Of Pride (Anthony Lord) at $3.10, Release (Ian McFarlane) $3.80 and just sneaking in ahead of Semenya on the line, Jimmy Coleman trained Magic Points who paid $2.30.
As a result the 12 race card meant most locals went home infront, ready to return to Canberra in February and conquer again.
