Bannerman Caps Off A Purple Patch At Canberra
Finding a purple patch of form is a wonderful thing no matter the trainer, Reefton trainer Margaret Bannerman is as purple as they come at the moment after topping a sensational couple of weeks with a win in town Saturday night the very likable trainer returned to Canberra for two winners, a second and a third on Sunday.
Litter sister to Saturday night's winner Tinashe Bale, Kamaria Bale opened the winning account for Bannerman taking out heat 2 of the Ready 4 Plumbing 0-3 win heats, over Pure Unleaded and Daytona Norbert in 30.98.
Patrick Lane and Preston Lane both adding to the kitty before Kirby Lane enjoyed the step up to the 440, taking out the Ranger Geale non grade in 25.71 ahead of Cawbourne Cathy and Rosey's Bond.
Also on a good run Ian McFarlane and Mark Scholes' Trimtex made it three on the run, having to work hard for this weeks run the Red Brindle Dog split through the pack beating In Awe OF and Two For You.
Dark Cavalier making it two on the trot at the track in another Best of the Night performance of 17.90, Ian McFarlane's Mancunian Kool and Faze Me Not rounding out the placings.

In the 440 metre heats it was High Fees for Keith Morgan and March Maiden for Ken Staines so go through as best qualifiers in the Valley Tavern series.
In her first crack at the distance March Maiden notched up her second win in a row in the smart 25.66.
The final two events on the card saw Jodie Gilbert's Cawbourne Sienna and Alan Tutt's Jenmar Goddess take home the chocolates in 18.20 and 18.05 runs respectively.
