Canberra Greyhound Trebles To Both Lord And McFarlane
The opening event went to Neil Staines' Miss Peru who made it a running double, backing up her 17.59 win last week, with a come from behind 17.85 1 ½ length win over Unique Unit and Half As Mate.
The second saw Walkaway Dee crack through after winning her maiden back in June 2008, to pick up early leader Rapid Guy Luke in the final stages, winning in 26.04, Rapid Guy Luke holding in for second, American Spot finishing third.
Race three and four saw two heats of the Doug MacKechnie 530metre Maidens battle it out with Lisa McFarlane claiming honors in both heats with all the way wins to Intellectual and Ammon Bale.
The fifth event was another lead from start to finish affair, this time for Book Of Days, trained by Andy Lord for Mark Gatt. The Black 26kilo bitch claiming her third career win in 30.74, two and ¼ lengths clear of Osti's Grace, Millefiori closing out the placings, making it five minor placings on the run.
First starter Meatlovers prevailed in the sixth to give Lord leg two of his treble, spearing the lids the Stryker's Shadow x Sarah Dean black bitch posted a smart 7.54 first section, winning in 18.01 over fellow first starter Leverage, Aranda finishing in the minors again.
The non grade 440 event was a well contested affair, Lord claiming the final leg of the treble with Jetwash holding out Mancunian Kool, Roughead rattling home for third in 25.70.
The final race of the night saw the largest return for punters with another LAW win going to Midnight Theory, just holding out Berella Ciata and Vidar Izmir, with a length separating the first three, lucky trifecta punters picking up in the order of $1,200 locally if they picked the first three.
