Greyhound Racing Club will host their section of the Pink Ribbon Raceweek on Thursday, September 19 – an annual initiative set across the three racing codes to raise funds for breast cancer research.

With a jam-packed schedule featuring all three racing codes lined up for the week, the main attraction is set to be the Pink Ribbon Cup happening at Racing Club on Saturday, September 21.

The week will also involve events on September 14th and 15th at Toowoomba and Sunshine Coast Turd Clubs.

has pledged to contribute towards breast cancer research for every #8 runner that emerges victorious in a race for the week.

“The event continues to get bigger and bigger,” mentioned Robyn Cameron as she talked about the event’s expansion.

“For the first time, people that can’t attend can still be involved by buying a virtual table or seat – you can still contribute to breast cancer research even if you can’t come.

“It’s a great way to get some additional funding, and anyone can take part; it doesn’t matter where you are.

“Every year 21,000 Australians are diagnosed, including 200 men, and around a thousand of those diagnosed are women under the age of 40.

“There are about three women under 40 who are diagnosed every day, which is insane.

“I’m sure there are so many people out there that are in that same boat, so it brings home the importance of this event.”

Since its start in 2008 the Pink Ribbon Raceweek has generated funds for the research of breast cancer aid in achieving the National Breast Cancer Foundations mission of eliminating deaths from breast cancer by 2030.
