Angle Park’s Abandoned Races Cause Breeders Plate To Be Rescheduled To This Thursday Night

The last four races at last Thursday were abandoned due to an overheating issue with the motor on the .

One of the abandoned races was the Group 3 $36,000 Final which was due to be run as Race 8. After maintenance staff on the night was unsuccessful in resolving the motor issue it was determined by the stewards that the remainder of the meeting be abandoned.

Friday morning GRSA ground staff and electricians were on site to investigate the problem. After repairs and testing of the lure it appears the issues been rectified, therefore, racing and trialling will continue as normal.

Greyhound Racing SA in consultation with the trainers of the greyhounds engaged in the SA Breeders Plate have decided to transfer the race to this coming Thursday night's program (May 24th ) as an extra race making it a bumper 12 race program. Normal policy has applied to the remainder of the races.

Tattsbet have also advised that the Trifecta Jackpot of over $15,000 will also be transferred onto the final this week.

Also this week will be the $9,000 Memorial Final over the 600m journey after the heats were conducted last night.

The fastest qualifier for the final is reigning Kalden Mayhem for trainer who bounced back to form with a dazzling final section, running away from both Dyna Aline and Crazy Heart in winning by over 8 lengths in a flying 34.85.

His kennel mate Kalden Aurora was also impressive in winning heat 2 of the McQueen Memorial after jumping to the front and giving nothing else a chance, she defeated Lasting Effect and Paua To Rock in a solid 34.97.

The final heat was taken out by the trained Head Tuner who proved too strong over the concluding stages for Kalden Komoto to remain undefeated over the 600m in winning by over 4 lengths in a handy 35.22.

The box draw for next weeks $9,000 Shane McQueen Memorial Final will be conducted on Monday with the qualifiers being Kalden Mayhem, Dyna Aline, Crazy Heart, Kalden Aurora, Lasting Effect, Paua To Rock, Head Tuner, Kalden Komoto with the 1st reserve Jessenia Bale and 2nd reserve Point Two Over.
