AGRA’s Greyhound of the Month for September 2009 is New South Wales owned and Victorian trained sprinter Dyna Lachlan. The star speedster has been in consistent winning form having won nine races and a second since early July.
He started the month off in Perth when he just got nailed on the post in the National Sprint final lowering his colours to Dashing Corsair. The following week he made his first appearance at Wentworth Park winning from box three in a fast 29.93.
Stepping out in his heat of the Paws of Thunder on September 19 he again recorded a brilliant win in 29.79. In his semi final Dyna Lachlan went better again recording a best of the night 29.74.
Dyna Lachlan has always shown above average ability since he started racing in April and in his 23 starts to date has won 16 and over $80,000 in prizemoney. Dyna Lachlan has recorded fast times on no less than five city venues around Australia and would seem to have his best in front of him. A very exciting sprinter he is another by super sire Go Wild Teddy who also this month produced the Irish Derby winner College Causeway.
Dyna Lachlan is a Black Dog whelped July 2007 by Go Wild Teddy from Benden Flex (Ashom Bale x Vista Bale). He is raced by Brendan Wheeler and trained by Andrea Dailly. He has now raced on 23 occasions for 16 wins and four placings and his overall stake earnings stand at $83,795.
September produced a number of group winners and it was a competitive month, however Dyna Lachlan’s consistent form each week of the month got him the nod over Group winners Jarvis Bale, Dashing Corsair, Cindeen Shelby, Remo Rubik, Amity Bale, Mr. Metz, Runaway Promises and Rambling Ruby.
AGRA congratulates Brendan Wheeler, Andrea Dailly & Dyna Lachlan on being awarded the AGRA Greyhound of the Month for September. He joins Red Shilling, Trew Millions, High Earner, Mantra Lad, Dana Beatrice, Miss Slick, Gunnadoo Magic and Velocette as the AGRA Greyhound of the Month winners in 2009.
