In a purple patch of brilliant form he won a heat and final of the Group 2 Geelong Cup a heat and final of the Group 1 Melbourne Cup and rounded out the month with a another win in a heat of the Group 1 Brisbane Cup.
His most significant win was the Melbourne Cup final. In front of one of the largest crowds seen in recent years Dyna Tron ($4.20) jumped brilliantly to lead Shereen Bale through the first turn and soon established a four length margin entering the back straight.
Shereen Bale chased valiantly to trim the final margin to 2¾ lengths, but could do no more as Dyna Tron etched his name into greyhound racing history.
“In the last three or four weeks he’s just been jumping out of his skin,” said kennel representative George Dailly. “He’s been racing in tremendous form of late and looked well boxed out in box seven.” Indeed, coming into the Melbourne Cup, Dyna Tron had had six career starts from box seven, winning three and being placed in three others.
He also landed the Group 2 Geelong Cup in early November from box seven. “It’s been a real family effort,” said Dyna Tron’s owner Brendan Wheeler. “This win didn’t happen overnight, it’s taken years and years and we can’t thank our trainers enough. They all work very, very hard for this to happen.”
Dyna Tron is a $2.75 favourite for the Group 1 Sky Racing Brisbane Cup final on Thursday night after getting lost on the track at his first start at Albion Park in the heat, he still won in 30.04. Dyna Tron jumps from box one and looks very hard to beat in the rich final.
Dyna Tron is a Red Brindle dog whelped February 2009 by Collision from Gold Rush Bale (Lansley Bale x Jindara Bale) he has raced 43 times for 22 wins and nine placings with his current stake earnings standing at $320,778.
In November we had nine group races decided. Dyna Tron beat Group 1 winners Zipping Malfoy and Spring Gun. Plus Group 2 winner Fully Advanced and Group 3 winners Bautista, Cold Fusion, Kalden Mayhem and Bekim Bale to win the monthly award.
AGRA congratulates the owner Brendan Wheeler, Dyna Tron’s trainers Team Dailly on being awarded the AGRA Greyhound of the Month for November 2011.
