AGRA’s Greyhound of the Month for April is New South Wales owned and Victorian trained sprinter Radley Bale. In April Radley Bale made a clean sweep of the Group 1 Easter Egg series recorded fastest time of the night on no more than three occasions scored a career best performance in the final when he accounted for an outstanding field at Wentworth Park.
His month started on the new track at Geelong where he recorded a best of the night win over the 460 running 25.61. After trialling well at Wentworth Park he won his heat in 29.45 1/100th outside the 520 record. The following week he lead all the way to win his semi in 29.68 another best of the night and he completed the sweep with a hallow win in the final recording 29.67 a best of the night winning by over eight lengths.
There were jubilant scenes at the presentation as Paul Wheeler lifted his first ever Golden Easter Egg trophy, one of the few major races to elude their breeding dynasty.
Radley Bale has been a model of consistency since late last year and has recorded fast times on a number of Victorian tracks Sandown 29.30, Traralgon 29.26, Bendigo 24.15 and Horsham 26.98.
He finished off the month last Wednesday when he ran second in a heat of the Warrnambool Cup behind Proven Que Tee after missed the start and he made up a heap of ground, but failed to make the final. His next mission will more than likely be the Group 3 Dawson at Sandown later in May with heats on the 19th.

The month of April has seen a number group races decided. Radley Bale beat Group 2 winners Enry Walt, Echelon, Pedro’s Thunder and Easy Peasy for the monthly award.
