Kalden Mayhem Awarded Australia’s Run Of The Month For November 2011

's for November 2011 has been awarded to Cup winner the much travelled South Australian Kalden Mayhem.

The blue dog staged a last to first victory in the final of the Gawler Cup on November 12.

A noted poor beginner throughout his career he once again begun poorly from box four and was back last at the post the first time. He hardly improved his position in running and had got past one runner Rawson Reason half down the back straight.

However railing up the blue all distance performer started to make a move and approaching the home turn made up considerable ground swinging to the outside he begun to close on the leaders. As the front runners turned for home kennel mate Kalden Aurora who was running about fourth on the fence fell heavily sliding across the middle of the track amazingly missing all other runners and in particularly Kalden Mayhem if only by a tiny margin. The favourite Aston Thomas took the lead but a powerful finishing burst by his kennel mate Kalden Mayhem saw him get up to win the prize in an outstanding effort.

The chaser commenced racing in West Australian for his breeder Dan Biddle in the middle of 2010. He had a number of wins at Cannington over the sprint distance including back to back best of night performances in 30.18 and 30.17. He also won at in 29.47 and in 27.30. Moving to SA in December 2010 he has enjoyed an increase in distance to 600's and staying courses. Winning plenty of races he was South Australian State Rep for the Distance Championship at in August. Kalden Mayhem finished a creditable third in the final behind Dashing Corsair.

As usual there were some outstanding runs recorded in November but Kalden Mayhem got the verdict after his mighty performance to win the Gawler Cup from a seemingly hopeless position early.
