Staged A Brilliant Last To First Win At Sandown Park
AGRA's for October 2008 has been awarded to Victorian sprinting old timer Proven Alias for his extraordinary performance of hard chasing when he won the Grade five final at Sandown on October 30th.

The veteran chaser had been off the scene injured since early June and returned on September 29th for a win at followed by another at in the best of the night 25.39. Both races were especially for veteran greyhounds that must be over four years of age, he was back at Sandown for an unplaced run on October 16. However the next week in his heat of the Rapidvite Grade five he recorded a brilliant win in another best of the night 29.88.

Back for the final and starting from box five he fell out and was last early but down the back he got going and smashed his way between runners to race away a brilliant winner in 30.08. Proven Alias was mentioned three times in the Stewards Report for collided soon after the start and on the third turn. Plus he checked off the heels of entering the home straight. His outstanding effort of never say die chasing earning him the AGRA October run of the month.

Proven Alias is raced by the McGrath Syndicate and trained by at Pearcedale in Victoria he is a Black dog whelped September 2004 by from Proven Booty (Awesome Assassin x Kobie Bale). Proven Alias has won 26 of his 66 starts and has been placed on 19 occasions and his current stake earnings stand at $93,785.

Proven Alias has always been a quality chaser and seems to have found a new zest for racing and at the moment is in vintage form who knows he may reach greater heights before his career is over.
Proven Alias joins the previous AGRA Run of the Month winners Keeko bale, , Vintage Octane, Birthday Boy, (2), , Knocka Norris and Made to Size.
