AGRA’s Run of the Month for October 2010 has been awarded to current staying star So Seductive, after her amazing performance to record 41.70 at Sandown Park in a heat of the Dillon Memorial on October 21.
The 715 record had proved hard to lower after it was set by Total Denial way back in March 2002 with the time standard set at 41.80.
Beginning like a shot from box 5, So Seductive was never threatened as she smashed the record with sections of 15.93 and 30.51.
“She’s really got her confidence up at the moment,” said Jackie Greenough, who handled the greyhound for trainer and husband Kelvyn.
“After her run a few weeks ago (when she ran 41.86) we thought she’d go close to the record with the right conditions.”
In an unusual move trainer Kelvyn Greenough nominated his charge for this week’s Sandown Shoot Out over the 515. Even more surprising was the fact she was included in the field along with three class sprinters when the committee decided she provided the race with an X-FACTOR. So Seductive will then go back over the distance in the heats of the Group 1 Bold Trease on November 11.
So Seductive is raced by Tyson Barton and trained by Kelvyn Greenough of Pearcedale in Victoria. She is a Black Bitch whelped December 2007 by Go Wild Teddy from Smiles Are Free (Reggemite x Free Cape) So Seductive has raced 45 times for 15 wins and 15 placings and with her overall stake earnings standing at $84,050.
As usual we had some outstanding runs recorded in October but So Seductive got the nod for her outstanding performance in claiming a city track record that had stood for eight years.
AGRA congratulates owner Tyson Barton, trainer Kelvyn Greenough and So Seductive on being judged the AGRA Run of the Month for October 2010. She join’s last month’s winner Smooth Fancy and the previous months winners Stepping Stone, Pedrosa, Velocity Cloud, Dashing Corsair, Nellie Noodles, Drill Em’, Blue Lorian and Goodesy as this year’s AGRA Runs of the Month for 2010.
