Thia Alert & Repeated Strong Derby Hopes For Richie Dean

, the early favourite for the $25,000 to the winner World 4 Pets Richmond Derby on Friday night, will be out to retain his unbeaten record off box eight, when he exits wearing the pink rug in the Final.

Trainer Richie Dean is looking for his second win in the time-honoured Classic having combined with Leader to win in 1993; kennelmates Repeated and give him a great chance to achieve the feat.

Repeated has really started to find his early zip and looked alert in his last couple of races and pinged the lids last Friday night and set up what looked to be like a winning break only to have Branded come from the clouds to collar in him right on the wire, which in itself was an extraordinary performance after being hampered turning for home.

Both and Ticabond were able to fill minor placings in the first heat which saw them gain entry into the rich final.

After recovering from a career threatening hock injury suffered in Melbourne last year, trainer Sid
Swain has performed a Houdini-like act on the very fast son of Big Daddy Cool, however Friday nights box draw has done him little favours as the dog does appreciate to be drawn a little wider in his races.

It would not be a Richmond Derby final without trainer Jason Mackay having some say in the outcome, and this year his First Representative into the final was Ticabond and he has come up with the covertaged rails rug in the final so you would be a game man to write him off.

Heat two saw the sibling show continue and Thai Alert gave odds on punters little cause for concern when he scampered out of box one and took off down the back straight and put a big space between himself and his rivals, Thai Alert is unbeaten having won at his only four starts at the Richmond track

The powerful son of Hallucinate and seasoned producer Thai Again was narrowly beaten by Branded when being run down after setting near record splits early in his heat last week of 5.22 15.29 for an overall time of 30.43, which is only a fraction outside 's track record of 30.26.

His sectional and overall times were a shade slower than his litter brother (5.30 and 15.45 with an overall time of 30.65) however after drawing the Green in the final it does not appear to be favorable considering Snozz has drawn directly inside of him with Branded in four.

Snozz was 3rd placed in last week's heat and the roman nosed son of Bombastic Shiraz and Special Osti just could be the wild card in next weeks final. Yet to miss a place in 5 starts around the Londonderry circuit he gave Jason Mackay his second Representative into the final.

Both Bului Tulumi & Mutt Lange appear to have the job ahead off them in the rich $25,000 to the winner Richmond Derby Final.

The Action does not stop there either and the Fletcher Family will be hoping to make it a unique double when younger brother Thai Agent steps out in the $10,000 Final.

He will not have it all his own way in the final either as the run of Malak Bale had to be witnessed to believed after being put out of play early at the first turn, he regathered his momentum down the back straight to score a narrow victory in his heat and is very well placed in box eight in the final.
