Australian April Greyhound Breeding Rankings – Where’s Pedro’s Dominance Continues

Despite only one group winner for the month of April ( Bale – Group Three ‘Ambrosoli' at ), Where's Pedro (535 points) continues to fly high at the top of the AGRA rankings table for a fourth consecutive month, 81 points clear of second placed Collision (454 points) and last year's stellar performer sire Surf Lorian (389 points).

The dominant sire for the month of April was the underrated Malfoy. His offspring have recently propelled him up the rankings table out of talented broodbitch Or Catra who was bred and reared by astute breeders Martin and Fiona Hallinan. One of these starts includes the trained Zipping Man, who took out the Group Three Magic Maiden at Wentworth Park and staying star Dashing Corsair (x Rose Flamenco) who racked up yet another Group success, claiming the Big Dog Cup over 600m at .

In the only Group One race for April it was a victory for Big Daddy Cool whose champion star Radley Bale (x Minkara Bale) conquered the 2011 Macro Meats Golden Easter Egg series, as well as almost claiming the Wentworth Park over 520m where he recorded 29.45, just 0.01 outside the legendary 's 29.44 track record she set back in 2008.

Thanks to her number one offspring coming out of retirement, Double Guess, took the number one spot for the second consecutive month with 19 points ahead of Sisco Train (17 points) and Abbadale Gold in third spot with 15 points. A consistent offspring producer, Double Guess, bred from the famous Robartson line, is responsible for multiple group race performers including; Tap An Rack (Finalist Group Two Ipswich Gold Cup), Jacabby (Finalist Group Two Albion Park Futurity) and Tonic's Pride (Finalist Group Two Ipswich Vince Curry).

Sisco Train's most successful offspring Kilty Lad's group race form has been as consistent as any top sprinter past and present. Since November last year, Kilty Lad began his outstanding form by claiming the Group Three W.A before taking out the prestigious Group One Silver Chief Final in a flying 29.66. He then made the trip to in South Australia where again he dominated in winning the Group One Adelaide Cup in a very impressive 29.39. His most recent effort was during the Golden Easter Egg in which he won his heat in a speedy 29.62, before bowing out in the semi finals.

Third placegetter for the month, Abbadale Gold's offspring seemed to have echoed the efforts of Double Guess, with a number of group race performers from multiple litters. Her recent and most successful litter to boom stayer Big Daddy Cool includes current staying star Pillow Torque who took out the recent Group Two Final at Sandown Park and is the new Sandown 715m track record holder with an amazing time standard of 41.64. Other stars from this litter include: Kalden Mayhem (Runner Up Wentworth Park Gold Cup) and Vancouver Kiss (Finalist Dapto Winnebago Classic and Group Three Magic Maiden).

Both Pillow Torque and Kilty Lad will be looking to rack up points for their respective dam's this Thursday night at Sandown Park with Pillow Torque in a heat of the Group One Sandown Cup and Kilty Lad tackling a heat of the Group Two Dawson which has a new first prize of $75,000.
