2015 Group 2 WA Oaks – free greyhound tips and betting preview

THE 2 WA Oaks will be run at Cannington on Saturday night over 530-metres, offering $40,000 to winning connections.

The current favourite with online bookmaker WilliamHill.com.au is Victorian bitch Weblec Belle. Trained by , the classy daughter of Dyna Tron and Snow Excuse has won 11 from 36 and was very impressive in her debut at the track last week, clocking 30.42 in taking out her heat.

Britton has two runners in the final, his other charge being the regally-bred West On Delly, currently $4 with William Hill.

A daughter of Brett Lee and West On Buebird, a sister to champion bitch Miata, West On Delly was another commanding heat winner, scoring by three lengths in 30.65. She will start from box eight in the final where she is one from one wearing the pink stretch vest.

SA bitch Real Flash also looks to be one of the main chances after winning in 30.41 last Saturday night. The Troy Murray-trained speedster has untapped potential, with just the nine starts including a scintillating 29.49 win at Angle Park to her name.

With such a quality field, lets have a look at the form for each runner with comments and selections from Australian Racing Greyhound‘s expert tipster, Brad Bugeja.

If you think you can spot some value, open an account with William Hill for up to $700 in bonus bets to place on the final.

Box One – Ronray Dreamer

 x Ronray Disco
Prize money: $7,360
Trainer: Barry McPherson
Career:  24:2-6-3
T/D: 14:1-4-1
T/D Best: 30.71
Career Highlights:  WON Cannington 30.94, Richmond 31.40.

“Showed tremendous improvement when placed in her heat last week and from the red she could add some value to your exotic bets. I don't think she is good enough to win, but from the inside she should settle mid field and she is quite strong in the run home, so she could sneak home into third or fourth spot.”

Odds to win the WA Oaks: $15 with William Hill

Box Two – Weblec Belle
Fawn Bitch – 27.2kg – December 2012
Dyna Tron x Snow Excuse
Prize money: $75,405
Trainer: Jeff Britton
Career:  36:11-10-4
T/D: 1:1-0-0
T/D Best: 30.42
Career Highlights: WON 2014 Brian Johnstone, FINALIST 2015 Group 1 Futurity, Group 2 Laurels Classic.

“Class act and when she steps cleanly she is always hard to beat. She had been missing the kick in recent months, but last week she was able to step a lot better and was never headed in her brilliant 30.42 heat win. I'm a little concerned about the speed drawn on her outside tonight so I think place claims do appear best.”

Odds to win the WA Oaks: $2.45 with William Hill

Box Three – Ruble Monelli
Black Bitch – 28.0kg – January 2013
High Earner x Fantasy Monelli
Prize money: $36,560
Trainer: David Hobby
Career:  38:14-11-3
T/D: 9:2-3-1
T/D Best: 30.59
Career Highlights:  WON Cannington 30.60, 30.66, Mandurah 22.60.

“Showed speed in her heat but she was never a match for the exciting Real Flash. Tonight she has speed drawn all around her and I can see her getting squeezed out in the initial stages. Great effort to qualify but I can't see her hitting the scoreboard tonight.”

Odds to win the WA Oaks: $19 with William Hill

Box Four – Starboot
Brindle Bitch – 26.3kg – November 2012
Give Me Five x Georgia Anne
Prize money: $26,875
Trainer:
Career: 38:12-3-5
T/D: 4:0-1-1
T/D Best: 30.84
Career Highlights:  WON Ipswich 25.18, Mandurah 22.69, Mandurah 27.59.

“Has gone to the next level in recent weeks and she has the early speed to be a factor in this event. Last week she led for most of the trip and she hung on quite well in the home straight behind West On Delly. If she can pounce on the early lead she should give a great sight and I think she can hit the line a little better.”

Odds to win the WA Oaks: $21 with William Hill

Box Five – Real Flash
Blue Bitch – 27.9kg – January 2013
Vee Man Vane x Bonegilla Flash
Prize money: $9,135
Trainer: Troy Murray
Career: 9:4-3-1
T/D: 1:1-0-0
T/D Best: 30.41
Career Highlights: WON Angle Park 29.49, 22.76, Cannington 30.41.

“Up and coming star and she blew her rivals away when posting a sizzling 30.41 heat win last week. If she reproduces the effort which saw her win last week she will most likely get the cash, however from the middle pin she can't afford to make any mistakes in the early stages. She is currently around the $3 mark which is a tad unders, if she gets out to the $4 mark it will be worth having something on her to win.”

Odds to win the WA Oaks: $3 with William Hill

Box Six – Sable Island
Black Bitch – 31.3kg – December 2012
Bekim Bale x Not In Kansas
Prize money: $8,515
Trainer: Ross Honor
Career: 8:3-1-1
T/D: 6:2-1-0
T/D Best: 30.51
Career Highlights: WON Cannington 30.51, 30.68, 37.53.

“Showing a lot of promise and I think as she steps up in distance she will continue to get better. Last week she was able to power to the line and she was far from disgraced when placed behind the classy Weblec Belle. She is going to settle back in the field, so the draw isn't too much of a problem. With some luck in running she could be able to find her way into second or third spot.”

Odds to win the WA Oaks: $14 with William Hill

Box Seven – Jamaica The Fun
Black Bitch – 28.6kg – July 2013
Kinloch Brae x Alotta Fun
Prize money: $14,690
Trainer:
Career: 13:3-5-1
T/D: 11:3-5-1
T/D Best: 30.58
Career Highlights: WON Cannington 30.58, 30.66, 30.68.

“Has shown explosive early speed in her two recent wins and if she can show a similar amount of speed tonight she should put herself into winning contention. She must lead to win her races so the start is crucial. At the $7 mark she is under the odds but if she happens to drift closer to start time she could be worth a saver bet.”

Odds to win the WA Oaks: $7 with William Hill

Box Eight – West On Delly
Black Bitch – 27.5kg – February 2013
Brett Lee x West On Bluebird
Prize money: $45,270
Trainer: Jeff Britton
Career: 26:8-9-3
T/D: 9:2-4-1
T/D Best: 30.52
Career Highlights: FINALIST 2015 Group 1 Classic.

“Looks well placed in the pink draw and she is my tip for the final. She normally steps fairly but she does muster speed very quickly and she should get a nice cart across from the seven in the early stages. She recorded 30.65 when winning last week, with a clear passage I'm expecting her to go sub 30.35 tonight.”

Odds to win the WA Oaks: $4 with William Hill

1st Reserve – West On Jorji
Black Bitch – 31.3kg – December 2012
Bekim Bale x Not In Kansas
Prize money: $5,275
Trainer: Chris Halse
Career: 9:1-2-3
T/D: 9:1-2-3
T/D Best: 30.75
Career Highlights: WON Cannington 30.79.

“Inexperienced type and she has only won the one race, however she does appear to have a fair bit of talent. She can't win this event but it might be worth following her in the upcoming weeks as she should progress through the grades quickly.”

Odds to win the WA Oaks: $21 with William Hill

2nd Reserve – Grey Gold
Black Bitch – 28.4kg – April 2013
Cosmic Rumble x Ta
Prize money: $9,530
Trainer: Chris Halse
Career: 15:2-3-2
T/D: 12:2-3-2
T/D Best: 30.59
Career Highlights: WON Cannington 30.59, 31.35.

“Soundly beaten in her heat and she has been struggling a little in recent weeks. Does own a smart 30.59 PB here and a repeat of that would see her be competitive, however she is off her game at the moment and she is likely to find this beyond her.”

Odds to win the WA Oaks: $18 with William Hill

Great Insight, l differ from you.
I believe Weblec Belle will get the chockies from Sable Island & West on Delly.
Do you do form on regular WA meetings?
I would love to read your thoughts regularly.
Have great weekend
