2015 Group 2 WA Oaks heats – form, tips and preview
FOUR heats of the 2015 Group 2 WA Oaks will be run at Cannington on Saturday night, with the series attracting some classy female sprinters from interstate.
The first two from each qualifier will progress through to the decider, to be run next weekend, worth $40,000-to-the-winner.
To ensure you know who to watch out for, Australian Racing Greyhound's Brad Bugeja has previewed each heat, bringing you his top four selections and an expert race analysis.

Heat One
Normally SA form doesn't really stack up against the top liners, however Real Flash is an explosive SA chaser and she announced her arrival to the big stage with a breathtaking 29.49 Angle Park win last time out. That is the fastest run around that circuit for quite some time and if she can reproduce that type of run here she will take a power of beating.
Wired For Speed is an extremely talented local chaser who has won nine of her 15 starts to date. From the red I would expect her to find the early lead and if the two happens to find bother she might be off and gone with the prize.
Cosmic Owl is a gun Victorian sprinter and she is capable of showing smart early speed in her races. The box draw is a bit of a concern but if she gets away cleanly she should be able to put herself into contention at the first bend.
Ruble Monelli rounds out the chances, she must lead to win but if she doesn't she can still hold on for a place.

Heat Two
Shanlyn Violet is a brilliant Victorian speedster and she comes here with extremely impressive credentials. Four starts back she destroyed a quality lineup at Sandown Park when posting a slick 29.52. If she can step cleanly from the pink draw she should have no trouble crossing and if she finds the top early they won't get near her.
Pop Coin has a great record here and she should match motors with the pink for most of the journey. She isn't overly strong in the closing stages so the quinella spot looks best.
Cafe Society is another chaser blessed with high speed, she can be a little hit or miss early but if she gets away she is capable of making an impact.
Jamaica The Fun has the good draw and she could figure in the placings. They are likely to burn her off mid race but she should hang in for most of the trip.

Heat Three
West On Delly is returning from a successful Victorian stint and with an ounce of luck she should prove too good for her rivals. She has a steady 30.87 PB here but that was posted a few months back and she appears to have found a fair bit since then. If she can land on the lure, I'm expecting her to get down to the 30.20 mark and that should see her win with ease.
Arya Monelli has won six of 11 here and she can show high early speed in her races. The empty draw outside should suit and she should be in contention for most of the trip, however she lacks the strength of West On Delly.
Starboost is the only other winning prospect, she tends to save her best for the Mandurah circuit but if she happened to pounce on the lure she could give a cheeky sight.
Top Four: 6 – 4 – 3 – 8
Heat Four
Weblec Belle is much better than her recent form suggests and she should show tremendous improvement tonight. This is one of the weakest events she has contested for a while and with an empty draw on her outside she should get plenty of room to drive through in the early stages. She is an extremely fast chaser when given clear running and it wouldn't surprise me if she posted the fastest time of the heats.
Sable Island is a strong chaser and she will be hitting the line very hard tonight, she is a little inexperienced but she is blessed with great track sense and she should fill the quinella spot.
Cosmic Luck is a Mandurah specialist but she should be respected in her Cannington debut. From the good draw she should be able to settle near the speed and she should hang on for some minor money.
Tara's Moment is another strong type and she must be included in your exotic bets, she isn't a winning prospect but she could be a good anchor for third and fourth
