Heat One
Quality lineup to kick of the series and I think we can find some value straight away with the talented Victorian Lektra Hawk. His form doesn’t look too crash hot but he has been racing in top class in recent weeks and with the pace drawn inside today he appears placed to get the run of the race. He is very strong and he is capable of running time when given a clear run.
Gun Mcbain is probably the most in form chaser in the state and he is a great chance again, if the red wasn’t in the race he would have been my top pick but I’m a little concerned that Aston Wingard will hold him out early and he is going to have to work overtime mid race.
Weston East is a gun Victorian and he will be very strong in the run home, he is having his first look at the track but if he gets through the first turn unscathed he will be running over the top of them late.
Aston Wingard has the good draw and he could hold them out early, I dont think he can hold on for the win but he should run a drum.
Top Four: 4 – 3 – 7 – 1

Heat Two
Very tough race but I think if Van Carrho Flash can step cleanly he should be able to lead throughout. Four starts back he showed a dazzling turn of speed before scoring at Angle Park in a slick 29.93. There isn’t a whole lot of speed in this race so he should get a fairly cheap lead if he can step on terms.
Sidney’s Shadow is slowly returning to her best form and she has won four of five over this trip. She has a bit of a flat spot after 60m but if she doesn’t get crowded at the first bend she should make an impact.
Fire Tyson is resuming from a spell and he looks ideally placed in the wide draw, he has won five of 11 here and if he is fit he could be the value.
Sunday Shoes started her career in SA and she has continued to get better since moving to Victoria, she likes this track and she will be very strong in the run home.
Top Four: 5 – 4 – 7 – 3

Heat Three
Farmeroo is an honest chaser and he has won six of 11 over this journey. There is a bit of speed on his outside but those runners like to use a bit of the track so he should get a fairly clear passage early. He meets some handy interstate runners here so he could be nice value.
Wind Whistler is a classy Victorian and he will be powering home at the end, he is going to need some luck mid race but if he can get out into some open space he will show a great turn of speed.
Cornelius Fudge is another strong competitor and from the red he should get a nice sit early, the only concern with him is that he doesn’t like to be crowded and if they come across hard he may get shuffled back early.
My Party rounds out the chances, he was flying at Angle Park prior to his two luckless efforts and he should show a return to form.
Top Four: 3 – 6 – 1 – 5
1st: $1,700 2nd: $500 3rd: $250.

Heat Four
Very even race and I think the out of form Oakvale Flyer can regain some confidence and get back onto the winner’s list. In recent weeks she has been missing the kick and finding bother, however last time out she pinged to the lead and led for most of the journey over 600m. She will be suited back to this journey and if she pings out again she will prove very hard to reel in.
Dyna Vank has excelled since coming over from Victoria and he should run a nice race at odds again, he has a couple slow beginners drawn underneath so he should be able to carve across into a prominent position early.
Kalden Kapone has scored two blistering Angle Park wins of late and if he holds them out he will take a power of beating again, my only concern with him is that I think he is better suited to a wide draw.
Go Mobo has the class to score but he is poorly drawn in the middle, if he is given room to muster in the initial stages he should be right in the mix.
Top Four: 3 – 8 – 5 – 1
1st: $1,700 2nd: $500 3rd: $250.

Heat Five
Allen Zentax is back to his brilliant best and if he reproduces a similar effort to the one that saw him score at Angle Park in 29.77 he will take a power of beating. He is showing a lot more early speed at present and with wide runners in three, four and five, he should get plenty of room to drive through at the first turn.
Texas Titan looks well placed in the pink draw and he should be suited to this track, he is likely to settle mid field but he will hit the line hard and he has the class edge over his rivals.
Sound Effort has the speed to lead and he has excelled since coming from Tasmania. This is his toughest test to date but if he finds the bunny he will give a great sight.
Wild Soul is SA’s best sprinter and most consistent chaser, if he can avoid bother from the poor draw he should be right there at the end.
Top Four: 1 – 8 – 6 – 4
1st: $1,700 2nd: $500 3rd: $250.

Heat Six
Blurred Lines was a recent finalist in the Group One Hobart Thousand and he is drawn to lead throughout. He has recently changed hands and if he is still at peak fitness he should make light work of this field, the only concern with him is that he has never been a genuine 500m sprinter so the last 30m could be a little worry.
Regal Looper has won three of six over this trip and he is suited to the wide draw, he has slow beginners drawn either side so he should be able to push through into a prominent spot at the first bend.
Galilee Spirit is ultra reliable and if he steps cleanly he has the speed to lead this race, he is a different chaser when on the bunny and he should give a great sight at nice odds.
Set The Scene rounds out the chances, he is much better than his recent form reads and if he can avoid early bother he may just run over the top of them late in the race.
Top Four: 1 – 7 – 8 – 5
