Albion Park Flying Amy Classic & Carnival Chase night greyhound betting tips

Albion Park is set to host 12 highly contested races on Thursday night from 6:45PM local time.

There's seven cracking heats of the 2023 Group 2 Flying Amy Classic run over the 520m for greyhounds under the age of 30 months.

This year's edition has attracted the best young dogs in Australia including Victa Damian, Custard Monelli, Trooper Tears, and Crumble Monelli.

Additionally there are four competitive heat for the 2023 Group 3 Carnival Chase over the 600m, featuring a stack of interstate greyhound talent.

Best Bet: Trooper Tears (Race 4)

Trooper Tears will be looking to bounce back off a terrible fall last fortnight and a trip away to Queensland will do him the world of good. Before this, he had won five races on the bounce including the 2023 Launching Pad beating litter brother in 29.61 over the 515m at . He is a prolific winner having won 10 of 16 with a further five placings. The only unplaced effort being his last start fall. Trainer Robert Britton has arrived nice and early for this year's Flying Amy heats and Trooper Tears has recorded the fastest trial of all contestants going 5.48/11.62/12.70, making his time over the 520m at Albion Park 29.80, which is electric for a dog having their first look. He is yet to taste defeat from box seven and there doesn't appear to be a great deal of speed around him. If he can replicate his first split from the trials he will prove hard to hold out on the first turn, and impossibly hard to run down from there.

Next Best Bet: All Spritzed Up (Race 10)

The Victorian, All Spritzed Up will be one of the hardest dogs to hold out in the 2023 3 Carnival Chase. The two-year-old son of Ritza Lenny x All Dolled Up has made a terrific start to his career having won 11 from 21 races and is just about to tick over $100,000 in total stakes. He has already recorded group success scoring in Group 3 company at the Meadows 525m in late 2022. Since returning from a six week spell, he has won two races from four starts, including an eye-catching effort to score from well back in the field over the same course and trip he celebrated his group success. He has trialled 5.69/11.58/12.65 here, making his time over the 520m at Albion Park 29.92. His run home of 12.65 indicates a dog that will appreciate the 600m and further. He will love the wide open stretches of Albion Park. He draws low and will be close enough to heading down the back straight.

Best Value Bet: Pudding Monelli (Race 6)

Western Australian (WA) trainer, brings across a three pronged attack and it's the least credentialed greyhound that appeals as the value bet of the night. Pudding Monelli is winless over his past seven starts however, has faced little luck at both and Cannington against kennelmate, Crumble Monelli. The pair both hail from the same x Flake Monelli litter. Flake Monelli was a super stayer for Hobby and in WA just a few years ago. Pudding Monelli trialled as well, if not better; than his two more talked about siblings when going 5.65/11.65/12.89, making his time over the 520m at Albion Park 30.19. His biggest issue is his box manners, and field sense which can be lacking at times. He finds a heat where the two key chances in betting are drawn low and could spread this field right out. He is very strong at the end of 500m and he will be more suited to the Albion Park 520m. Expect Pudding Monelli to be rocketing home into the minor money.
