Australian Greyhound Racing Tips For Monday 7th February 2011

Australian greyhound racing tips for Monday 7th February 2011 with selections from Bendigo greyhounds (Victoria), Cranbourne greyhounds (Victoria), Shepparton greyhounds (Victoria), Wentworth Park greyhounds (New South Wales), greyhounds (New South Wales), Bathurst greyhounds (New South Wales), greyhounds (South Australia), Albion Park greyhounds (Queensland) and greyhounds (Tasmania).

Today see a packed day of greyhound racing with the postponed Wentworth Park greyhound meeting from Saturday night being run back in the old Monday night timeslot. The meeting was postponed due to the extreme heat and weather condition seen in Sydney over the past few days.

The highlight of today's greyhound racing is without a doubt the heats of the 2011 Launceston Cup. The race has attracted enough greyhounds for eight heats and the usual cross border raiders have appeared to steal the cup away from Tassie.

Other races of note are the 4 5th grade heats of the at Cranbourne, and a very good field of young greyhounds has been assembled in Bulli's Windsor Leagues Club maiden final.

Bendigo Greyhounds – Race 9 – Box 2 – Lucky I'm Fast – 2:26pm Vic time

Tier 3 no penalty meeting at Bendigo today and good bets are few and far between, but Lucky I'm Fast looks well boxed to show up in the 545m race. Lucky I'm Fast has had only 6 starts for a win and 3 placings, but importantly that win was here over this distance in 32.56. The time is not going to set the world but this race does not look strong and with a slow beginner on her inside, Lucky I'm Fast should be able to lead. Ran 13.28 first section when winning and that will just keep the lead in this.

Cranbourne Greyhounds – Race 3 – Box 2 – Yowyeh – 5:09pm Vic time

Pretty hard to go past Yowyeh as the best bet of the day from Cranbourne Greyhounds in the first heat of the 5th grade Summer Cup heats.. The son of has had 8 starts for 3 wins all at Sandown and all in sub 30 second times. Those 3 wins were followed by a 3rd at Ballarat from box 8, but have to expect he will return to the winners list here in this. Led all the way at his previous wins and looks to be boxed well enough to get to the post first, the first time around and then keep it going.

Bathurst Greyhounds – Race 8 – Box 1 – Master Legend – 6:28pm NSW time

The Glen Ginn owned and trained Master Legend looks well boxed and will go around at good odds in the second Blue Paws novice heat at Bathurst over 520m. The son of Bush Legend has had 17 for 4 wins and 7 placings and comes in to this off a win and a second at Lithgow over 506m, both from box 1. In fact Master Legend has had 4 starts from box 1 for 2 wins and 2 2nds. Aided by the box this 29kg greyhound can get the cash for us at good odds.

Shepparton Greyhounds – Race 6 – Box 7 – Bingle Bay – 8:49pm Vic time

Bingle Bay has had 6 starts for 3 wins and 2nd. Amongst those wins is a 24.73 maiden win, a 22.25 win here in November 2010 and a Healesville 18.74 effort in November 2010. Resumes here after 2 month break but is bound to have been trialling well as he is first up over 450m. Has already won from box 8 and box 6, so the green draw will not cause an issue and has moderate beginner Dimon Devil to his outside and slow beginner Clovalley Boone on his inside. Should have no issues leading this 5th grade race and should get home.

Bulli Greyhounds – Race 10 – Box 5 – Rock Island Line – 10:10pm NSW time

Christine Oldfield looks to have another nice young greyhound in her kennel in Rock Island Line. The son of Bit Chilli ran 22.62 in his performance trial and then won his debut race by 3.25 lengths in 22.74 from box 7, leading practically all the way. Still on the improve and should get cover early from Tramontano to his inside.

Wentworth Park Greyhounds – Race 1 – Box 1 – Nat's The One – 7:25pm NSW time

Don't have to wait long for the best bet on the Wenty program, Race 1, Number 1, Nat's The One is the one! The daughter of and I Love Lucy might just be a real up and comer, having won 6 of 7 career starts at The Gardens and Gosford. Trained by Vince Bennett, Nat's The One failed last start at The Gardens after missing the start but previously had been very good from the boxes. Gets the ideal draw for her first run at headquarters and should have little trouble accounting for these but price will not be fancy.

Gawler Greyhounds – Race 5 – Box 4 – Aston Elite – 7:28pm SA time

Aston Elite was our selection at her last start at Angle Park, but fell after copping severe interference. Had previously won well at Angle Park from this box in 30.31 and has 2 sub 30 second wins at Angle Park to her name. Trained by , she should be able to lead the inside division in this race and prove too good. Does her best racing on the bunny, so the start is critical to our chances tonight.

Albion Park Greyhounds – Race 9 – Box 1 – Sid Rock – 9:21pm Qld time

Sid Rock has won just 3 of 24 starts but one of those wins was here at this track and distance 2 starts ago in a 5th grade heat where he won in 30.67 from box 3. Ran a 5.88 first section then and then had no luck in the final from box 4, finishing 6th. Gets the cherry red draw here and that 5.88 first section will be just enough to hold the fence and the lead and take this out.

Launceston Greyhounds – Race 2 – Box 6 – Rumble Missile – 8:00pm Tas time

In the opening heat, the Victorian trained Rumble Missile looks a good bet. Trained by Darren McDonald and owned by Steve Kavanagh this is another from the “Rumble” lines who has plenty of ability. 2 starts ago he won a 5th grade in 25.98 by 3.5 lengths as $1.70 favourite and then didn't get a lot of luck from box 4 at Ballarat, running 2nd to Inspirator in 25.70 as a $1.80 hope. Should appreciate this field and will take a power of beating.
