Leg 1 – Sandown Park – Race 10: Captivating To Win $2.10
Captivating is the real deal and she should be ready to impress in her metropolitan debut. Last time out she blew her rivals away when scoring at Warragul in a devastating 25.67 and if she can reproduce a similar effort tonight she should make light work of this lineup. Obviously the last 30m or so is a slight concern but I think with a clear passage early she should have enough in the tank as they turn for home.
Leg 2 – Maitland – Race 5: Billycath To Win $2.50
Billycath has won three on the trot here over the 400m journey and he should be ready for the step up in distance. In his past three starts he has been slow to begin but he has been able to whip around them mid race and power to the line when scoring in very fast times. The manner in which he hit the line in those 400m wins suggests that he should have no trouble covering the extra ground tonight. I suggest you snap up the $2.50 now with Bet365 as I think he will start quite short come jump time.
Leg 3 – Maitland – Race 6: Tua To Place $3.10
Tua does his best racing around this circuit and with an ounce of luck early he should be able to make his presence felt. He has been placed in all nine tries over this journey previously and apart from the one and five, he is taking on some average chasers. He will get back early but the gaps should open up mid race and a top three finish should be on the cards.
