ONE of three selections greeted the judge yesterday, and fortunately our updated staking methods did the job in the background producing a 15% POT turnover result for us, even though two of our fancies went under.

Lid Pinger (Fabregas x Gut Wrenching Sep '15) was perhaps a little lucky to get there but fell in at Maitland over the well supported Shoestring. Remarkably because of the support for Shoestring, up to $2.30 was bet about our hope and the bet size helped get us the result we needed.

Stitch ‘Em Up (Bekim Bale x Niamh Premier Jun '15) has been good to us and started short odds but never looked like losing at his second run at Gawler. Comes in to a harder race today and up against another handy one going well in Rip It Ralph. Drawn box five today in a field with a lot of winning form, but convinced he is better drawn off the track rather than the inside. Luca Bazooka looks the likely leader at some point, but banking on Stitch ‘Em Up to round them up late with his looping wide running style.
