Leg 1 – The Gardens – Race 5: Precious Quality To Place $3
Precious Quality is stepping up in class tonight but two starts back she really impressed when scoring here in a solid 35.32 and a repeat of that type of effort should see her figure prominently again. She is a tad slow to begin but she does appear to have great track sense and if she can balance up mid field she should be able to put herself into contention at the half way point. She is extremely strong in the run home and at the $3 quote with Bet365 for the place she appears to be great value.
Leg 2 – Ipswich – Race 8: Maywyn's Ace To Place $1.91
Maywyn's Ace is taking on a quality lineup today but he is a class act in his own right and he has a terrific record from wide draws. Amazingly he has started from boxes six to eight in his past eight starts and they have netted him two wins and four placings. He should get a nice cart across from the six in the early stages and he should be able to balance up in the top two as they head off the back straight. The last 30m can be a struggle for him but with a trouble free run he should have enough in the tank for a top three finish.
Leg 3 – Casino – Race 8: El Magico To Place $2.50
El Magico is a promising chaser which he has raced well here to date over the 484m journey and two starts back he was able to record a placing over this trip. The wide draw isn't a great advantage today but there is very little speed around him, so with a clean getaway he should be able to drive across and settle just off the speed. He has shown that he is quite strong in the run home and this race doesn't appear to be overly strong, so he does appear to be good value at the $2.50 quote with Bet365.
