Greyhound Betting Tips For Monday 19th August 2013

We managed to keep out noses in front last night, with 1 winner from 3. Lilly Was Here got the job done at $4.00 at beating our Wave Jockey. More Aries ran second at , and Dale Bale failed for a 4th time at over the short trip. Monday's are always a good night and let's hope we can find a few here again tonight.

Albion Park Greyhounds Race, 6 Box 3 Saviour 8.26pm

This is more a tip against the likely favourite Lucky Tacloban, then a tip for Saviour. Being a punter, a spectator, and a former hobby trainer, I often have a strong opinion on things; and I certainly have one here – Lucky Tacloban was flying around Albion Park before he was whisked away and given a shot at and as I expected, he failed miserably running last. He returned here last Thursday and again he failed again, running second last and walking out. Maybe there was, and maybe there wasn't; a plan in place for the son of but from what I've seen it's done the dog no good. So I'm going to declare him no chance here again tonight. He has the ability, speed and the right box here to win, but I'll be having none of my own money on him. So for those reasons I'm going to select Saviour, for in form young trainer Nina Harman. Her dogs are flying at the moment having made the National sprint final with Wag Tail. Saviour can show early pace and should be vying for the early lead. He should get around the first turn in a good position, and if he can find clear galloping room he should burn away from them mid race. Once he finds the front there's nothing in this line up that can run him down. He has a PB of 30.28, and as long as Lucky Tacloban doesn't ping and go Saviour should win the race. I can't see him missing a place, so each way for sure.

Angle Park Greyhounds Race 5 Box 1 Allen Dirk 7.58pm

Boxed to win is Allen Dirk, and he won't get a better chance then this here tonight. His form is only fair, and he should start at big each way odds – 10-1 hopefully. He loves the inside and performs at his best from the inside traps. Boxes 4,7,8 are the main chances but apart from box 8 runner Emerley Wizard the rest are boxed badly. If Allen Dirk can spring out and go, he may be able to put enough space between him and a few of the dangers, to hold on and win this. Emerley Wizard, has enough pace early to get across these, and if he does he should beat Allen Dirk; but as the lids fly open, we wanna see boxes 4,7,8 slowly away and if this happens, Allen Dirk should get the cash. From the cherry, with the others boxed badly, he's a great eachway hope here tonight.

Wentworth Park Greyhounds Race 1 Box 1 Freddo Pedro 7.15pm

Unfortunately fills the left by here tonight. I don't mind voicing my opinion and I hate Wentworth park, and especially the 280 scamper racing. It's just a waste of time, and provides little entertainment for me. Simply, you lead you win here over the scamper, and Freddo Pedro is boxed to win and he has enough speed to lead. His recent form is good enough to win this, and he should just lead and win. He'll start favourite and should get the cash.

Launceston Greyhounds Race 5 Box 2 Shanlyn Johnno 9.02pm

This bloke should belt these here tonight. Box 1 runner Zultan should lead them up and drag Johnno straight into the race. He's got a big motor Shanlyn Johnno, but does rely on luck in his races. He generally begins slowly and has to weave his way through the field. He shouldn't have to here tonight with Zultan leading him out. He should sit right on there hammer early, and explode past them mid way through here. He's run 29.81 here and has had 5 goes for 2 wins and 2 3rds. The others engaged here in this just cant run the times he's capable of and I doubt bad luck will beat him. He'll start the favourite but I think he'll be backable odds. At even money I'll be backing him here in this until my nose bleeds. I just can't find something to beat him, and he looks the outright winner. Box 8 looks second pick.

Shepparton Greyhounds Race 8 Box 1 Flaming Shiraz 9.30pm

This race is not as easy as it appears at first glance. Flaming Shiraz gets the nod here, but a big chance is given to Bella's Girl if she can get clear and find the front early. However box 1 runner Flaming Shiraz does have enough pace here to ping as lead, and she's a different dog if she can find the bunny form the get go. She looks the likely leader and should have a few of these off and chasing early from the get go. Boxes 4,5,7 also have strong claims with a lean towards box 4 runner Reprieved. He's got a motor and he's another who can certainly win this. Apart from Flaming Shiraz, the rest will probably come out on terms with each other and it will come down to who gets left upfront and who gets spat out the back. Stick with Flaming Shiraz from the good box and with the early speed.

Best Of Luck
