Greyhound Betting Tips For Thursday 18th April 2013

Albion Park Greyhounds Race 4 Box 1 Beau Ryan 7.41pm

Heat 2, and I'm going with a roughie in this race. Its not a race I feel confident about finding the winner in, but I am going to select something I quite like at big odds. Beau Ryan for Northern Rivers Trainer , is named after new Cronulla recruit, and Footy Show funny man Beau Ryan. The son on Vapour Whirl has very little experience only having 5 starts, but he has run a fast 22.97 at Grafton and Cookie would not have him in this if he didn't think he was a chance. He's coming off a very fast trial at and track touts tell me his middle section was unheard off, which is evident in his fast Grafton win. Whether I select him or not, he's going to start at big odds in a race against some very experienced high class animals. From any other box I would suggest not having anything on him but from box 1 in a field out of form, I suggest something small each way on this fellow. He could be the upset of the night.

Angle Park Greyhounds, Race 9 Box 2 Cousin Callum, 10.05pm

731 staying event here and Cousin Callum has to be a world certainty on last weeks run in the big one behind Mimicking. His own personal time was a very fast 43.26 and if he repeats that its game over. However he will be no odds at all, so we are going to try tip the First 4. Cousin Callum is the likely winner, but SA's most consistent bitch Miss Woods is our second selection. She just doesn't know how to run a bad race, even when finishing 6th in last weeks final. The daughter of still ran just outside her own PB, with a quick 43.51. Its a fabulous effort considering she was off the bunny for the entire race and was beaten 7 lengths – she's our . Best Delight is our third pick, and the daughter of is having her 116th start tonight. She's still racing very well considering she over 4 years of age. She too has a god PB although she is yet to win in 8 attempts. One thing about this bitch is she's been there and done that, and will continue to chase from behind. Our fourth and final pick has to go to the Peter Jovanovic trained Book Of Shadows. This girl is no doubt being stepped up to get her coming out in front. She has ability but tends to get too far back at box rise. I'm not sure she will handle the trip but she should hold onto fourth position in front of Alis Bale, who seems to hate .
1st – Cousin Callum
2nd – Miss Woods
3rd – Delightful Bond
4th – Book Of Shadows

Dapto Greyhounds Race 7 Box 3 Vivian Bale 9.38 pm

I really liked the run of Vivian Bale last start; it was full of merit. She wasn't given much chance and had to work extremely hard the entire race. Box 3 wont be any problem here tonight. She has enough early speed to lead here, and I have no doubt if she lands on the bunny she will win this one. The two dogs boxed inside her aren't the best of beginners, especially Slingshot Jack; but Slingshot Jack does have a love affair with and once he finds the rail he works home really hard. Vivian Bale should have no trouble crossing him, and if she gets across him and kennel mate Richard Bale its all over. She has posted a fast 29.95 and a repeat of near that will be more than enough to win this. I cant see the outside dogs cutting across early, so all our selection needs to do is jump and run. She's out of form, but she has been around the mark and her times haven't been to bad for a dog being beaten. We are only going to get around the $4.00 mark, but that should be about the right price.

Hobart Greyhounds, Race 9 Box 1 Nooee's Lad. 10.28 pm.

This bloke has to be seen to be believed. I dont think I've ever seen a dog begin quicker then this bloke. He literally begins under the boxes and lands at least 2 or 3 in front every time – I've never seen a dog begin so quick; its quite remarkable. From box 1 here tonight he will again fire out and land 2 or 3 in front. He can run but isn't at his best if he is pressured early on. The only danger appears to be the very fast Shanlyn Johno, he too has a huge motor; but is generally a much slower beginner. Nooee's Lad has the ability to really open up this field early on, and that may make it hard for his main danger to land close enough to run him down. I prefer to back front runners and one things for sure this bloke will certainly be out in front from the get go.

Sandown Greyhounds, Race 6 Box 7 Steve Allen 8.52pm

We have been tipping this bloke for a while, and he was a selection when running unplaced at two starts back. He led the race but stopped badly in the run home and it appeared it may have been to much for him. However he came out the next week, and stormed from near last to first to win in very good time. I was of the opinion he would make a very good stayer this fellow, and it now appears he's shaping up like one. Tonight's race is no harder and he will be suited, with Bagget Bale the likely tearaway leader. I have the feeling Steve Allen goes best from behind, and when finding the front early he uses up to much gas; a little like Champion He Know's Uno when he first started over the staying trip. It's the right race for Steve Allen tonight, and he's a great each way chance.

Best of Luck
