Welcome to Australian Racing Greyhound’s free Greyhound Racing Tips for Monday 15th June 2009 with Tips tonight from Cranbourne (Victoria), Wentworth Park (New South Wales), Albion Park (Queensland) and Angle Park (New South Wales).
With racing tonight from Cranbourne (Victoria), Wentworth Park (New South Wales), Albion Park (Queensland) and Angle Park (New South Wales), lets just review some of our betting advice for the way those tracks play.
Cranbourne races over the 311m, 520m and 699m distances. Punters should stay away from the 311m races as a short run to the first corner cause unpredictable results and leaders usually win. Box 8 is a huge advantage in these races.
The 520m distance runs more consistently and the track show a more normal distribution of the four “bookend” boxes performing best. The 699m races are run infrequently and usually contain one standout selection.
Wentworth Park went from being a very fair track to a leader biased track with the addition of “transition turns” to the corners in the mid 90’s. Leaders have been advantaged ever since that track modification and consequently red box draws are small advantage over both the 520m and 720m distances now.
Albion Park was the first track in Australia to move to the finish-on lure system and it is definitely the better of the two Queensland TAB tracks. A lack of depth in a lot of races can cause upsets at Albion Park when favourites are over-rated or suffer interference. Tread warily when betting on the corner start 600m races; and the 700m races will often throw up odds-on favourites that have alot of weakness about them.
Angle Park is all about leading to the first corner, class dogs will knock up winning in South Australia as their is a definite lack of depth, even at higher grades. Again be wary of betting in 600m and 700m events at Angle Park as in many cases it is just the last throw of the dice for connections and there are very few genuine stayers.
Cranbourne Greyhounds – Race 5 – Box 1 – Tizzatango
Might pay to forgive Tizzatango’s last failure here and go on December 2008 Sandown 30.24 win and previous Geelong 25.65 win. Obviously has had some issues or a season as she went away from racing for 2 months and then a further 4 months. On best form would be right in this and with several slow beginnerrs outside, she should be able to secure the right run.
Cranbourne Greyhounds – Race 6 – Box 1 – Black Eight
Black Eight will appreciate the inside draw here in waht is a very even 5th grade final. With not much between any of ther runners and most veen pegging tot he first section, Black Eight should be able to hold the inside and make amends for getting run down by Inject The Venom last week. Only went down a short margin there has a good box 1 record.
Wentworth Park Greyhounds – Race 1 – Box 5 – Black Star Lass
Hoping for a return to form here of undoubted talent Black Star Lass. She came to prominence through the Magic Maiden Series and looked like a more than habdy type. Has struggled for form at her past 2 starts but won well before that. Rarely seems to draw a good box but has a heap of class. Has won 2 of her 3 starts from box 6, so will know the way from box 5.
Wentworth Park Greyhounds – Race 2 – Box 1 – Come Over Nova
Interesting race but Nova Surf’s litters sister Come Over Nova should have the pace here to win from an ideal inside box draw. Looked like she had matured at her last 30.17 win at Gosford and that followed some consistent form including a 30.37 second here in May. Won’t take much improvement from that run to win this.
Wentworth Park Greyhounds – Race 3 – Box 1 – Rough ‘Em Up
Rough ‘Em Up won well at Canberra and Bulli before getting too far back here at his first start in town. Followed that with an improved 3rd here from box 2 again getting back in the run. Wants the rails draw, but will get back again, so not for the faint hearted. At his 3rd starts here, should have it all sorted now.
