Greyhound Racing Tips For Saturday 7th March 2009

Welcome to Australian Racing Greyhound's free Greyhound Racing Tips for Saturday 7th March 2009. Last night's results were again an improvement over the previous results, and we found 4 winners including $5.60 (Best price) winner Punk Appeal at Richmond. for a nice profit on the night.

Our free tips weren't without their dissapointments though, Regal Blaze fell soon after the start in his race and unfortunately for connections looked like he fractured a shoulder, which will almost certainly finish his racing career.

Another dissappointment was the performance of Aston Volante at his second race start. There must be two of them, because the dog that raced last night never looked an inch like the dog that ran 30.03 at his first start at The Meadows; wait until he strikes consistent form before jumping in to him again.

There were also another two more additions to the Never To Be Backed Again (NTBBA) File. They were New South Wales greyhound Autumn Honey Bee, who either couldn't or wouldn't make any effort to chase down those in front. The other addition to the file is Victorian greyhound . This greyhound is not racing anywhere near what he is capable of and has completely given up. Did not chase an inch last night and we can't see that changing any time soon.

These two greyhound join and Bikini Beach in the NTTBA Files and of course any greyhound in the NTBBA File can be confidently laid for profit at Betfair in the future.

For those that like to Lay our greyhound Tips at Betfair, the four winners saw a $400 downside that wasn't recouped by the other 6 winning lays as they were mostly all good odds. The night saw a $233 net loss that eroded the previous two days profits.

Tonights greyhound racing comes from The Meadows (Victoria), Wentworth Park (New South Wales) and Cannington (Western Australia).

The Meadows races over the 525m, 600m and less frequently the 725m distances and the track definitely favours railers; it is almost impossible to make ground once you get wide on the track at The Meadows. The inside 3 boxes are favoured over the 525m, and the inside 4 boxes over the 600m. The outside boxes are a decided disadvatage over the both the shorter distances.

Wentworth Park went from being a very fair track to a leader biased track with the addition of “transition turns” to the corners in the mid 90's. Leaders have been advantaged ever since that track modification and consequently red box draws are small advantage over both the 520m and 720m distances now.

Cannington is one of the better two tracks which does tend to give greyhounds off the speed a chnace to run on. Both the 530m, and 642m distances favour the inside boxes and the 1 box has a slight advantage over the 715m distance.

The Meadows – Race 5 – Box 1 – Rellim Rosie

Undefeated from two starts off box 1 and a good second at this track last week, Rellim Rosie should be able to lead and win this. This daughter of Bond~Brandeen Glory has won 8 from 18 starts with a further 7 placings and has a vacant box to her outside with the scrathing of Spiral Glory, who is running in tomorrow's Cup Final.

The Meadows – Race 6 – Box 1 – Roman Bale

Last start all the way winner in 30.09 at this track, Roman Bale ran a flying 5.12 first section which should see this son of Bond~Clementine Bale far enough forward to hold the rail and hold out kennelmate Firefly Bale and Elite Luke. Roman Bale has now won 6 from 14 and looks a very handy dog in the making.

The Meadows – Race 8 – Box 1 – Pheonix Shiraz

The massive 41kg Pheonix Shiraz is probably not quite going as well as he was prior to injury last year, but is going well enough to win this off the red box. Surprisingly quick early for such a large greyhound, it is difficult to see him being crossed off this draw and with a record of 6 wins and 7 placings from 15 starts over this track and distance, he is the dog to beat.

The Meadows – Race 9 – Box 1 – Bo Frazier

Off the red box here after an excellent Rookie Rebel win at this track and distance, 3 starts back and a very good narrow 2nd to Stoner Bale here last start, Bo Frazier looks a graded certainty in this 600m race. The small field should suit and doubt there is too much here that can go with him, provided he can get clear running at some stage in the race. With the good record of 5 wins and 3 placings over the 600 here from 9 starts, he is The Meadows 600m King.

Wentworth Park – Race 1 – Box 8 – Forty Twenty

Last start Richmond 720m Track Record runner, looks an absolute moral to win this race off the pink box. A winner of 7 of his 9 starts now with 1 placing, the trained son of Big Daddy Cool~Westend Kaitlyn has won his last 6 races by a combined distance of 32.25 lengths and is New South Wales' most promising stayer since Miagi. The question is not will he break the 43 seconds, but will he break the 42 second barrier at his first go at headquarters.

Wentworth Park – Race 4 – Box 4 – Nimbastic

Brilliant beginner Nimbastic should lead this field from box 4 and burn them off. With noted “crasher” drawn in box 6 and a vacant box in 5, Nimbastic will have to be on best box behaviour to avoid Lorna Moira and get out in front of her at box rise. A last start winner here on Monday night, leading all the way in the best of night 30.23, this son of Bombastic Shiraz~Nimuay has the pace to upset the more fancied Size Can Matter (box 1)and last starts Richmond Derby winner Cool Flight (box 3).

Wentworth Park – Race 6 – Box 1 – Rockstar Image

Resuming from a last start fall, is not that well boxed in box 1, as he can dwell at the start and likes to use plenty of the track. He has won 2 from 3 starts of this box, and won 2 and placed 1 from 4 starts at this track and distance, with a best time of 30.09. Owned and trained by and Allen Healey, this son of Big Daddy Cool ~ Twisted Angel is a class act and has the potential to win at elite level. Happy to stick with him here depsite his supposed vulnerability off the draw as the small field will allow him to get a run at some stage and class will see him home.

Wentworth Park – Race 9 – Box 8 – No Dingo

Boxed out in the pink box, No Dingo is an absolute flying machine early and has a good box 8 record to support claims that he can lead easily tonight and keep going to upset visiting interstate runner Bake A Cake (box 3). The son of Big Daddy Cool ~ Token Melody has a best winning time of 30.20 at Wentworth Park and an overall record of 17 starts for 5 wins and 6 placings with 5 starts from box 8 producing 2 wins and 3 placings.

Cannington – Race 2 – Box 5 – Carlson Bale

Winner of 8 from 12 career starts Fantasy Monelli will starts the shortest of favourites from box 1, allowing us luxury odds for the best greyhound in the field Carlson Bale from box 5. Since arriving in WA this greyhound has won 3 of 5 starts and can win from off the pace and in front. With Fantasy Monelli likely to lead from box 1, he will be a sitting duck for Carlson Bale who's best time at Cannington is marginally quicker over the 530m. A career winner of 9 from 21 this son of Primo Uno ~ Daishi Bale has slow beginners drawn his outside and should be able to get a clear run to go after Fantasy Monelli.

Cannington – Race 5 – Box 8 – Vintage Octane

Visiting Victorian Vintage Octane trained by Darren McDonald recently secured the 2009 Group 2 Zoom Top to go with his 2008 Sale Cup. In the Group 2 Zoom Top he was in or near the lead for the entire trip and held on to narrowly beat ever consistent group class stayer by 1.25 lengths and there is no reason to that from box 8 here tonight, the same won't happen. Easily the two best stayers in the race they should run the quinella, but Vintage Octane to win.
