Aza Buzz is resuming after two months off and he looks well graded in this event. Prior to going for a spell he had been racing in open company at Albion Park and he was highly competitive in those events. Being fresh I would expect him to begin well and he should settle in the top three early. He has a slick 25.15 PB here and on the bunny I think he could probably go a little quicker than that.
Byonic Avenger is the interesting runner, he has brilliant straight track form at Capalaba and if he can handle the main turn he should be a major player. He’s in good hands and I’m sure he would have had a couple of trials here. You Aye is well drawn out wide and he returned to form with a strong 27.56 Grafton win recently, with a good getaway he should be thereabouts. Elite Dessa rounds out the chances, he is much better than his recent form and he can improve from the red draw.

Rupert’s current form looks poor but he hasn’t experienced a lot of luck in running of late. From the red draw he should be able to punch through and settle in the top three early and with a 30.77 Pb here he should prove too strong in the run home. He should be around the $3.50 mark which is good value in a race like this. Klondike Rush is a big danger but he can be very inconsistent, he has won here previously in a very zippy 30.61 but overall he has only figured in the money on two of eight occasions. If he steps away he should be right in the mix.
Ropeley Jet is a reliable beginner and he should lead for a long way, his last 50m is always a struggle but he should be able to hold on for a place. Knockin’ Milo is the query runner and comes here with strong Victorian form. If he has settled in well he should be primed for a bold showing.
