Rockhampton greyhound tips & value bets | Wednesday, July 13
This week, we are back to our usual Wednesday night meeting at Rockhampton where we have a huge 12 race program to sort through. As the winter nights roll on, let us warm your night up with some good bets along with our quaddie selections.
BEST BET: Saron (Race 11)
The Ken Boody-trained Saron (box 1) looks the best bet on the program. This son of Surf Lorian is unbeaten in two career starts. He was an impressive maiden winner when on debut winning by over four lengths from box three clocking a fast 23.82 seconds. He then won his novice race by over three lengths from box eight and is ideally drawn in box one tonight. He does show good early speed and should lead all the way in this 5th grade race. We will need to take short odds but it looks better than bank interest.
NEXT BEST: Five Putt Cal (Race 8)
The Christine Pollard-trained Five Putt Cal (box 2) looks the next best bet on the program. This son of Orson Allen was unusually slow to begin last start when finishing third behind First Black Jack from box five. He was coming off a three week break so he should be sharper this week. He loves a good low draw and should be able to cross the greyhound draw inside of him early and be hard to beat. Main dangers look to be Swift Twitch (box 3) and First Black Jack (box 5). Both greyhounds can show good early speed but have drawn outside of Five Call Putt which makes their task harder if he begins well.

BEST VALUE BET: Tokyo Dreamer (Race 10)
The Christine Pollard-trained Tokyo Dreamer (box 7) looks a good each way chance and is our value bet for the program. Suggest a 1×3 win/place betting ratio. Expect Ring Me (box 3) to be a short priced favourite in this race after winning all three career starts. She is not the quickest greyhound to begin but does muster good speed soon after the start if given clear galloping room. Not sure if she will get room early and could be in a bit of early trouble. For that reason, Tokyo Dreamer could get a good run out wide on the track early and be in the winning mix at good odds. Last start, Tokyo Dreamer was luckless behind Prosecutor from box eight after a slow start but did finish off well in the home straight. At his previous start, he was a good third placing behind Why Harmony from box three.
