Rockhampton greyhound tips

is set to host a 12-race program on Wednesday night from 6:55pm local time. The feature race on the night is the 2023 Final, which carries an $11,600 purse and features the likes of , San Marco, Bank Heist and Walk On Sunshine. Local trainer will likely have the favourite in this race with Dixie Gambles and San Marco being the two best-graded dogs.

Best Bet: Dixie Gambles (Race 8)

Star sprinter Dixie Gambles will be aiming to add another feature trophy to the cabinet when she goes around as a commanding favourite in the 2023 Rockhampton Grand Prix Final. She has returned from a long injury layoff in great style, winning five of her eight races. The only losses she has suffered have come when contesting in the wildcard, heat and consolation, where she was hindered by poor box draws and tough fields. Despite this, her last two wins have been solid and she is due a peak performance. The three-year-old daughter of x West On Jill has had four starts from box three, resulting in three wins. Judging off her first sectional splits, this is her best box and she is aided by a few slow box dogs either side of her in Bank Heist and . She looks the likely leader in this race and has never been run down from this position at the Rockhampton 510m.

Next Best: Who's Travis (Race 3)

The second novice event on the night appears to have more depth with the -trained Little Spyro set to face off with the Ken Boody-trained Who's Travis. Both have similar records in the early stages of their respective careers; however, there's more upside with Who's Travis, who has recently joined the Boody kennels from team Elson. In his past two efforts he has shown terrific improvement — in particular, his box manners, which were questionable when arriving from Brisbane. He speared straight to the front from box seven to break his maiden last fortnight in a moderate 24.25. Last start he jumped brilliantly from the inside box and almost stole victory from the short-priced favourite, Princess Azara, when the pair ran around the 24-second mark. Jumping from box eight, he will look to spear across and find the front, while Little Spyro is drawn low and could find some trouble due to her habit of starting slow.

Best Value: Guru Bart (Race 7)

The best eight races in Rockhampton have slowly worsened in recent weeks due to good sprinters being out injured, finding races at other venues, or now trying their hand at the longer journey. Due to these factors, this race is extremely open and one could argue points for most runners to win, yet Steven Boody appears to have the value runner of the night in Guru Bart. The two-year-old son of x Thrilla Stroke has a career win rate of 38% and has won four of his past five efforts. His last defeat was over course and trip last week when finishing an unlucky fourth in 24.19 to after being knocked down by the erratic Danish Cake. From a better draw in this, he appears to get a stress-free run and can sit behind Velocity Kayla down the back straight before coming with one final run turning for home.
