Race 1 – 515M Grade 5 – 7:08PM

Open race to kick start the night but I think the well drawn Rinash can get the job done. In recent times he has been racing in consistent style and from the red draw he should get every chance to lead throughout. Three starts ago he was a winner here in 29.91 from this draw but what impresses me the most about him is that in the past he has won at Warragul in a sizzling 25.90. He is fairly reliable at boxrise and in the middle there appear to be a few wide runners, so he should get plenty of room at the first bend.

Allen Gravion has been bombing the start of late and racing without luck, although unlucky he has still managed to finish off his races and record impressive placings. Once again the draw is against him but if he can gain an ounce of luck he should be thereabouts. Total Silence is the interesting runner, the former NSW chaser had built up an impressive record in his home state before joining the powerful McDonald camp. His winning time of 30.77 at last time isn't overly impressive but the manner in which he won was very impressive, after a slow start he worked his way through the field and hit the line solidly. If he can get across early he should make his presence felt.

Top Four: 1 – 6 – 7 – 5

Suggested Bets:

Win bet on Rinash

Boxed Quinella: 1,6,7 ($3 for 100%)

Trifecta: 1,6,7/1,6,7/1,2,5,6,7,8 ($24 for 100%)

Race 2 – 515M Grade 5 – 7:25PM

Grubby has returned to his best form and he has hit the line quite strongly in his two impressive Bendigo wins of late. He is normally a reliable beginner and he has the luxury of a slow beginner drawn directly outside. With an even getaway he should find himself in the top two at the first bend and should prove far too classy for this lot. You should be able to get around the $4.00 mark which is great value.

All In Troy has been racing in much stronger company on the country circuit of late and he has been far from disgraced in those efforts. Four starts ago he beat a handy field at from a wide draw and he musters pace at a great rate in his races. From the pink he should be up vying for the lead early and the 500m trip won't be too much of a stretch for him. Hot Dream has won two of nine over this trip and her 29.68PB is more than respectable. The only concern with her is that she has plenty of speed drawn on both sides and she may not get sufficient room to muster in the early stages. Sooty Lee is a classy speedster and she has been racing well on the country, however she too will need the breaks from the middle pin.

Top Four: 3 – 8 – 4 – 5

Suggested Bets:

Boxed Quinella: 3,4,5,8 ($6 for 100%)

Exacta: 3,8/3,4,5,8 ($6 for 100%)

Trifecta: 3,4,8/3,4,5,8/1,3,4,5,6,8 ($36 for 100%)

Race 3 – 595M Grade 5 – 7:44PM

Fearless Bert is a chaser who is blessed with ridiculous talent and from his favourite draw he gets his chance to return to the winners list. In recent times he has been bombing the start and in trying to get wide and into open spaces he has been losing ground in the run. From the pink he will be straight out into open space and he should be up outside the leader as they head into the straight the first time. This isn't an overly strong affair and this really looks his race.

Half Way There showed his true ability recently with a powerful 26.00 Warragul win and his racing pattern indicates that this trip will suit. He has had a few tries over the Meadows middle distance but on each occasion he hasn't experienced a lot of luck in running, tonight he has a couple of slow beginners drawn outside him and he should get a chance to settle much closer to the speed. Miss Society is the interesting runner, in recent weeks she has been well supported but she has been a little disappointing. She has the speed to lead this type of race and after a couple of hit outs over this trip she should be able to run the trip out a little better.

Top Four: 8 – 3 – 7 – 2

Suggested Bets:

Win bet on Fearless Bert

Quinella: 8 to rove with 2,3,7 ($3 for 100%)

Trifecta: 8/2,3,7/Field ($18 for 100%)

Race 4 – 515M Grade 5 – 8:08PM

Quite a few chances in this affair but I think we can find some value with the highly talented National Time. His form of late doesn't appear to be too flashy, however he is blessed with explosive early speed and he has won here previously in a slick 29.43. There isn't a whole lot of early speed in this event and at the double figure odds he should give a great sight at odds.

Astronomic is the interesting runner, he has recently joined the strong McDonald kennel and he comes here with brilliant WA form. He has scored numerous fast wins at Cannington and I would expect him to start a short priced favourite. The only concern is the middle pin and his form indicates that he isn't the greatest of beginners, however he is too good to dismiss. Galahad could be the value runner in the event, he doesn't win too often here but he has been placed in half of his 18 tries here and he has been racing well in strong company of late. Dyna Yenite must be included in the exotics, he can show early speed and he hasn't been far away in recent tries here.

Top Four: 6 – 5 – 3 – 8

Suggested Bets:

Each Way National Time

Boxed Quinella: 3,5,6,8 ($6 for 100%)

First Four: 5,6,8/5,6,8/3/Field ($30 for 100%)

First Four: 5,6,8/5,6,8/Field/3 ($30 for 100%)

Race 5 – 715M Mixed 4/5 – 8:28PM

One of the most intriguing and exciting races of the night. The in form Zipping Rory takes on the classy Luna Jinx, whilst up and coming staying star Dyna Perseus will look to cause an upset. I've gone with the upset, Dyna Perseus always showed enormous potential over the sprint trip and since stepping up in ground he has gone from strength to strength. I think if he can get the 700m journey he will be one of the country's top stayers in three or so months. He has found himself in a quality affair in his staying debut, however I'm a huge fan of this one and this will be the best price you will see for a while.

Zipping Rory continues to impress at present and if reproduces the effort that saw him win here last week in 41.83, he is sure to make his presence felt. From the pink box he should be able to settle in the top three early and he should finish in the top two overall. Hession Boots is making his staying debut tonight he has been crying out for this trip. Three starts ago he beat a high class line-up at over 570m and I have no doubts that he will run out the journey. Luna Jinx is obviously going to be well supported, however the red draw is a disadvantage for her because she does not like to be crowded. Looby Lu is another who will be well in the market but in my opinion she is a big doubt to run out the trip.

Top Four: 6 – 8 – 7 – 1

Suggested Bets:

Win bet on Dyna Perseus

Trifecta: 6,8/6,8/Field ($12 for 100%)

1,6,7,8/1,6,7,8/1,5,6,7,8 ($36 for 100%)

Boxed Quinella: 1,6,7,8 ($6 for 100%)

Race 6 – 515M Free For All – 8:52PM

Class act Marcus Joe returned to his best at The Meadows last Saturday and he should make it two in a row tonight. Last Saturday he second in the run and as they turned for home he proved too powerful, tonight he has slow beginners drawn either side and the runner drawn on his outside is desperate to get wide, therefore he should be able to drive through to the early lead and it should be a matter of how far. He has a sizzling 29.24 PB over this trip and at the $3.00 mark it really looks to be pinching money.

Hawk Alone is one of those dogs that gives 110% every start and he should be in the mix again tonight. He has raced well here in the past having won five of 13 over the trip and he has the ability to win by either leading or coming from off the speed. Cornelius Fudge has his draw tonight and he must be included in all exotic bets, he is likely to get too far back to be a winning factor but he is never far away. Mepunga Armagh is racing in great heart but he can't afford to make any mistakes from the wide draw.

Top Four: 2 – 6 – 1 – 7

Suggested Bets:

Win bet on Marcus Joe

Exacta: 2/1,6,7 ($3 for 100%)

Trifecta: 2/1,6,7/1,6,7 ($6 for 100%)

Trifecta: 2/1,6,7/Field ($18 for 100%)

Race 7 – 595M Mixed 4/5 – 9:11PM

Another race with plenty of chances, however it is hard to look past the likely leader Cosmic Wise. In recent times she has been pinging the lids and in her brilliant 34.17 win here last week she reeled off ridiculous sectionals. There isn't a whole lot of speed drawn underneath tonight so she should get a fairly cheap lead and if she can repeat her 34.17 win it will be hard to see her being run down.

My Boy Snoop is an enormous talent and he looms as the danger if he can get through the first bend relatively unscathed. Before coming to Victoria he had recorded some sizzling Bulli and wins and it would be great if he can get a clear run to show his true ability. Shall She Rock has the gun draw and she powered to the line when scoring here last time in 34.46, the red draw should allow her to settle a lot closer in the early stages and she should be there when it counts. Untraceable is obviously the other winning hope but the box draw is a big negative for him. He isn't the greatest of beginners and he can find a lot of trouble, however he has loads of talent and he runs out the trip very strongly.

Top Four: 4 – 2 – 1 – 5

Suggested Bets:

Win bet on Cosmic Wise

Trifecta: 1,2,4/1,2,4/1,2,4,5,6,7 ($24 for 100%)

Exacta: 2,4/1,2,4,5 ($6 for 100%)

Race 8 – 595M Group Two McKenna Memorial Final – 9:35PM

Pretty strong line-up for the main race but it's hard to see Xylia Allen being beaten. Last week in her heat she overcame a few difficulties and hit the line solidly for a top 34.18 win. Tonight from the red she should be able to hunt through to the lead at the first bend and if she does lead then the track record may be in jeopardy. She is unbeaten in her three tries here and she truly is a star and it will take a brave punter to take her on in this.

Tark's Nemesis looks good for the quinella spot, after an even getaway in her heat she settled in second spot and then continued to hit the line well for a smart 34.29 heat win. Tonight she has a fair bit of speed drawn underneath and that should allow her to drop onto the rail soon after boxrise. Dream It should be in the first two or three early and he looked impressive when scoring the fastest heat win of 34.17, the only problem tonight is that there might be a little more pressure up on the speed and he won't get everything his own way.

Top Four: 1 – 3 – 5 – 7

Suggested Bets:

Trifecta: 1/3,5,7/Field ($18 for 100%)

Trifecta: 1/3,5,7/3,5,7 ($6 for 100%)

Trifecta: 1/3/Field ($6 for 100%)

Race 9 – 515M Grade 5 Final – 9:55PM

Open affair but the well drawn Zambora Power should make it two wins on the trot. Last week from the pink alley he was posted a little wide and he had to work home from off the speed, tonight from the red he should hold the early lead and I would expect him to be running time on the bunny. I know his winning time last run of 30.01 isn't great but I think on the lure he is capable of running sub 29.60 and that would be more than enough to win this.

No Ransom has scored a hat trick of wins and last week's heat win was probably the most impressive of the three. After passing the first marker in a steady 5.20, he went into overdrive and powered to the line in a sizzling 29.60. Clearly the first 50m is crucial to his chances but if he gets an ounce of luck his will be in the finish. Hello Stranger was another impressive heat winner and what caught my eye with his heat performance was the 5.11 to the first marker. If he can repeat that he should find himself well in contention early and he may prove hard to gun down.

Top Four: 1 – 4 – 5 – 2

Suggested Bets:

Win bet on Zambora Power

Boxed Quinella: 1,4,5 ($3 for 100%)

Exacta: 1,4/1,2,4,5 ($6 for 100%)

Race 10 – 515M Mixed 4/5 – 10:12PM

Ride The Rails showed he was back to somewhere near his best when placed at The Meadows on Saturday night. He has been placed in five of six tries over this trip and he is drawn to settle in the top two at the first bend. I have a big opinion of this bloke and I'm confident he will open his account at Sandown Park tonight. You should be able to get around the $3.50 to $4.00 mark due to the fact that there will be plenty of support for Rumbling Rick.

Crawf's Bread returned to the winners list with a slick 30.36 Cranbourne win last start and he is drawn to feature again. He is normally a reliable beginner and he has a slick 29.37 PB over this trip. Rumbling Rick has found his best form in recent weeks and he turned in a big performance when placed here last week, however the wide draw tonight is a little concern as he may be posted wide for most of the trip. Ferly Reign is a class act but she struggles to run out the 500m journey these days.

Top Four: 2 – 1 – 7 – 4

Suggested Bets:

Win bet on Ride The Rails

Trifecta: 1,2/1,2/Field ($12 for 100%)

Trifecta: 2/1,4,7/1,4,7 ($6 for 100%)

Exacta: 1,2/1,2,4,7 ($6 for 100%)

Race 11 – 595M Grade 5 – 10:32PM

Sisco Rage hasn't experienced a lot of luck since joining his new kennel but tonight he has drawn a weak race and he gets his chance to return to the winners list. Tonight he has a fast beginner drawn underneath and slow beginners drawn on his outside, that should allow him to get a perfect trail behind the red in the early stages and he will prove far too strong in the run home. He has a solid 34.40 PB here but I think he is capable of getting down to the 34.15 mark with an unimpeded run.

Ozzy Bale is another who has been racing without much luck of late and he too should be suited by the class drop. If he was drawn closer to the rail he would probably be the top pick but even from the middle pin I believe he is good enough to make an impact. Lethal Three has won here previously in a slick 34.25 and if she can step a little better she should also be thereabouts. Oxley Major is expected to lead off the red but he isn't that strong in the run to the line.

Top Four: 2 – 5 – 4 – 1

Suggested Bets:

Win bet on Sisco Rage

First Four: 2,4,5/1,2,4,5/1,2,4,5/3 ($18 for 100%)

First Four: 2,4,5/1,2,4,5/3/1,2,4,5 ($18 for 100%)

Trifecta: 2/1,4,5/Field ($18 for 100%)

Race 12 – 515M Grade 5 – 10:52PM

Elite Devil contested the Group Two Bendigo Cup Final last week and if he can show the early speed which helped him win his heat he should prove hard to reel in tonight. Four starts ago he won at The Meadows in a solid 30.17, so the journey won't pose too much of a problem. I think the key to his chances tonight is the fast that there are numerous slow beginners and he should get a very cheap lead.

Ready To Riot is a talented NSW speedster who has already captured a race at The Meadows since coming across and from her rails draw tonight she is likely to be putting pressure on Elite Devil for most of the trip. Mechatronic is an interesting runner, he hasn't won for a little while but he has won at The Meadows in the past in a slick 30.00 and he finally has drawn somewhere near the fence. Yakamov Bale rounds out the winning hopes, he is drawn a little poorly out wide, however he does have speed to burn and he shouldn't have too much trouble getting across.

Top Four: 2 – 1 – 3 – 7

Suggested Bets:

Trifecta: 1,2/1,2/Field ($12 for 100%)

Trifecta: 1,2,3/1,2,3/Field ($36 for 100%)

Trifecta: 2/1,3,7/Field ($18 for 100%)
