Wentworth Park betting tips

Last week was very special with the running of the 2023 Golden Easter Egg, and this Saturday night's greyhound racing at Wentworth Park should be almost as good. We have heats of a dogs-only and a bitches-only series, along with a quality free-for-all, a ' race and the final of the maiden heats series run here 10 days ago. There is also a Happy Birthday race for one of ARG's own, Dimity ‘the greyhound girl' Maher. There are lots of quality greyhounds and lots of winners to be found, so hopefully we can find you a few.

Best Bet: Len Me Dad (Race 3)

This son of Fernando Bale and Winxette has been setting the track recently. Coming off a in the Maitland , this boy then stepped up into the Easter Egg and won his heat (by 12 lengths, mind you) in a race which happened to contain three of the eventual finalists. His time was a scintillating 29.44 and it was off an awkward draw in box four. He was desperately unlucky in the semi-final when Mia She's Fast knocked him out of the race. He now drops back into a fifth-grade dogs-only race and gets a nice outside draw, which he prefers. On the back of that Egg heat win he will probably start favourite in this race, but he's clearly the best bet on the program, as this greyhound has a Group racing future ahead of him.

Danger: Charlo
He is a talented youngster from the kennel and has just found trouble in his races. There is no doubt he will win races, but he'll need to step up if he is to challenge a flying .

Next Best Bet: Esme Watson (Race 9)

We tipped good old Esme when she won her first-ever race here at Wenty back in July last year at healthy odds, and she got the chocolates again for us 10 days ago. She used box two perfectly that night and has drawn even better in this race. She will get room early, rail hard and be very hard to beat. Her box one record is a minor concern as she is only one win from three starts, but one of those was her race debut and she is a much better greyhound now. Expect her to hunt along the fence and put the race away down the back straight.

Danger: Agent Nevada
She had a very good record before coming to take on the Easter Egg and the , so you know she is a Group-quality chaser. She has just been missing the kick a fraction of late and it has cost her in the best-of-the-best races. Back to a fifth-grade bitches-only race will suit her, and if she begins well, she might be hard to beat.

Best Value Bet: Major Ando (Race 5)

This son of Ando's Mac and Rosa's Revenge will have the polish put on him by Luke . He won a nice race here 10 days ago off a horrible box and draws perfectly here. Azzopardi's dogs all go lengths better when drawn down on the fence and this boy is no different. He is two from two from the cherry red rug and should get some early room with the dog outside of him being a moderate beginner who fell last start. There is not that much early pace in this race, and if Ando's Mac can get the start right, he can lead all the way – and at very nice value odds indeed.
