The Meadows betting tips & top value bets | Saturday, May 28
Greyhound racing returns to The Meadows on Saturday night with a strong 12-race card commencing at 6:27pm AEST. The quaddie legs kick off at 7:49pm, while the last race of the night is set to go at 10:16pm. Team Dailly have 18 runners engaged on the night, and we have chosen one which we think is their best chance as part of our free racing tips of May 28.
BEST BET: INDY JUNO (Race 9)
From box eight, Indy Juno gets the nod in this event on the back of two very good runs in her last two outings. On May 11 at Ballarat over 450m, the black bitch showed plenty of early dash and raced away to win in 25.63 from box six. She had box six again the following week at The Meadows and again showed early pace but just got overrun in the last 20m. We think she will be fitter for that effort and this time she can lead all of the way from the pink box. The last time she had box eight here she got a bump on the first bend and ran third, so the key is missing that early interference from the wide box.

NEXT BEST: JAVI (Race 2)
Javi gets another chance in this event over the 525m. He has drawn box one and should go close to leading for Marlene Schmidt. Last week he was midfield away and ran a solid fourth after running home okay, but we really need him to jump a little better this time to show his best. He won in 30.07 here on April 20 after leading from box six, and the last time he had box one here he ran a good second behind Aston Elanor.

VALUE BET: BASMATI (Race 12)
Basmati for Alice Peat has won five from 20 starts and, at good odds, is well worth a play in a race that is not overly strong for Saturday night grade. His run at Bendigo last start was pretty good (fourth) from box four when starting at big odds. Back on April 19 he showed plenty of pace at Horsham over the 410m when third, and if he can show that early pace from box eight here, he just may be able to cross them on the first bend. Kennel mate Raph City will be one of the hardest to beat, as will Octavia Bale if he jumps better than he has of late.
