Very open race to kick off the night and Pyromania appears drawn to figure prominently. He has strung together four impressive performances and on each occasion he appears to be showing improvement. Last time out he showed a great turn of speed when posting a strong 30.27 win here and from the red he should be able to repeat the dose.

Linco Bale is a strong chaser and his effort to score at Geelong three runs back in 26.11 was massive. From box three he should be able to find the rail in the early stages and as they head through the bend he should be able to drive into a threatening position.

Hula is a member of a promising litter and she showed improvement when posting a zippy 25.59 win, if she can begin cleanly she should be able to carve across into a prominent position early and she should give a great sight.

Gunnadoo Blade has a heap of talent and if he is he will run a bottler but my concern with him is that he doesn't like to be crowded and he will need everything to go his way in the early stages.

Quarterback is a highly promising type and he is drawn to get all the breaks. Two starts back he showed a dazzling turn of foot soon after box rise when posting a brilliant 25.25 Ballarat win. If he can step cleanly from the red he should get plenty of room to drive through early and he should put a space in them mid race.

Spring Grace is a reliable beginner and she should lead to the first turn, she may get burnt off in the middle stages but she will be fairly strong in the run home and she should fill the quinella spot.

Bronco De Jurer is much better than his recent form reads and he is drawn to get a nice sit in the early stages, I dont think he can win the event but he could be a good dog to anchor for second and third in your exotic bets.

Dyna Brainiac can ping the lids in his races and he has been placed in his four tries over this trip, if he goes around at silly odds he may be worth an each way ticket.

8ACOLA ROSEBUD (NSW)[5]57671NBTT Noy (New Gisborne)

Another open event and I think former smart QLD stayer Rain Stream can get the job done. Last time out she overcame a slow start and powered to the line when solidly placed at Geelong over 680m and with an even getaway tonight I would expect her to settle much closer to the speed. She has won some good quality races in her home state and after two runs for her new kennel I am expecting her to find her best form.

Smart Maxwell is better suited to a shorter journey but I am expecting him to lead clearly tonight and he should be able to build up a big break mid race, the last 50m is going to be a worry but he might have a big enough lead to hold on.

Setsuna Bale continues to improve with every run and she has been crying out for this distance range, two starts back she scored a very strong 37.75 win and a similar effort tonight will see her hit the scoreboard.

Berry Blitz should match motors with Smart Maxwell early or at worse sit just behind him. She isn't overly strong but she has been racing against strong company of late and she should appreciate the class drop.

Chrichton Bale has been racing without luck in recent times but he looks suited to the wide draw tonight and if he can step on terms with them he should have more than enough speed to get across. In recent times he has been getting knocked over soon after box rise and therefore he has never been a factor, earlier in his career he showed that when given room to muster speed he is capable of reeling off super impressive sectionals.

Trip To Cairns has the coveted red draw and she should be able to drive through into a prominent position in the early stages, last time out she overcame a slow start and wide draw when posting a strong 34.84 win here, from the inside she should settle a lot closer to the pace and she will be very strong in the run to the line.

Vernon Bale was far from disgraced when placed behind Trip To Cairns here last week and he has the speed to settle in the top three early, he should have derived a lot of benefit from his last run and I expect him to be thereabouts again.

Dixie Lane is another who will settle near the speed and she has a solid 34.73 PB here, if she can settle in the top two early she should feature in the placings.

Opec Bale keeps going from strength to strength and he may be the next big thing in the staying ranks. Last week he made is 725m debut and after a slow start he picked himself up quickly and rounded them up mid race before scoring in commanding style. His time of 42.54 was three lengths faster than any other qualifier and with a clear run in the early stages tonight he should probably go a little quicker.

Evie Jane returned to form with a strong 42.72 heat win and she appears to have regained her confidence, last week she surprisingly pinged to the lead and never looked back. I can't see her leading again tonight but she should settle in the first half and she will be quite strong in the run home.

Roethlisberger won his heat from a wide draw and he should get a clear run early from the pink, he has been showing a lot more early speed in his most recent efforts and with another good getaway he should be able to make an impact.

Allen Gundam could be the value in the event, he is a little one paced but he will run all day and he should continue to improve after two solid efforts over this journey in recent weeks.

Ride The Rails relished the step up in distance here last week when destroying his rivals in a blistering 34.20. The inside draw is probably a bit of a disadvantage but if he can step cleanly he should be able to push through and hold them out in the run through the first bend, his middle section last week was off the charts and I would expect him to put a space in them mid race again. He is likely to start around the even money mark or just under and in a field like this I think that is value.

Rumero Reason hit the line strongly in his 34.61 heat win and if he can find the rail in the early stages he should turn in another strong effort, slow beginnings have cost him in the past but he has won four of 11 over this trip.

Waymore's Blues should settle in the top three early and he should be improved by his debut effort over 600m last week, his time of 34.65 was just average but I think he can take a few lengths off that tonight.

Where's The Surf rounds out the chances, he led for a long way before getting tired in the run home last week. That was his first try over this distance range so I would expect him to show improvement.

Quarrel Bale is a super talent and his effort when placed here last week was eye catching. After a slow start he found himself well back in the field, however mid race he made a strong move and he only went down by around a length in very fast time. If he can begin a little better tonight he should settle in the first half and if he is that close I would expect him to assume control as they go past the second marker.

Wind Whistler is yet to win here but he has been placed in all nine tries here, he is going to settle well back in the field but he is blessed with a massive finish and if the gaps open at the right time mid race he will be right there at the finish.

Top Secret should fire to the early lead and he will set a cracking pace, his last 40m isn't great but he should have a nice lead mid race and if they shuffle up behind he may just steal the prize.

Zell Bale is poorly drawn in the red but there isn't much speed around him so he may be able to settle in the top two or three early, he is quite strong in the run home so if he settles that close he should figure prominently.

7BLURRED LINES [4]8718330.13(3)K Bravo (Lovely Banks)
8MARCUS JOE [1]4171729.66(3)B Moloney (Marcus Hill)

Marcus Joe is an absolute gun and from the pink draw he should get a clear run early and that should allow him to burn them off as they head through the first bend. Two starts back he showed that he is at his best when posting a blistering 25.54 Geelong win and a similar effort here would see him win with ease, he has won seven of 18 here and everything points to him scoring.

Peloton Bale is another who does his best racing here and he will be in the finish if he gains a clear run in the early stages. He is very strong in the run home but the best part of his race is his middle section, so if he gets galloping room off the back straight he will be right in the mix.

Blurred Lines should match motors with Marcus Joe for the first few metres and after he gets headed he should be able to hang on for some minor money.

Lektra Hawk could be the interesting runner, he normally misses the kick but from the red he may be able to settle a lot closer and he can run time with a clear run.

Handy race and I think the classy Oakvale Flyer should relish the step up in distance and from the inside draw she should be able to lead from go to whoa. In recent weeks she hasn't had much luck because she has been missing the kick and finding bother soon after. Tonight she has slow beginners drawn on either side so she should get every chance to punch through and lead them up.

Mechatronic is back in great form and he should be in the top two early, he is likely to burn off Oakvale Flyer mid race but I'm expecting him to stitch up in the last 50m, so the quinella spot looks best for him.

Cornelius Fudge is well drawn out wide and this is the easiest race he has contested for a while, if he can avoid bother through the first turn he should be able to balance up and put himself into contention.

Darbain Dasher doesn't win very often but he could be value for the place, he will settle back in the field but he will be flying home and he could grab third spot.

Alex's Entity has been racing in stellar form and he should prove hard to hold out based on his sizzling 30.09 Cranbourne win two runs back. His box manners aren't great but he does possess a wonderful turn of speed and with two slow beginners underneath him, he should be able to gain a clear passage in the first 50m. He is expected to start very short odds so I would just anchor him up front in your exotic bets.

Zeppelin Bale is armed with smart early speed and he looked impressive when scoring at Bendigo in 23.99 last time out, he should sit just behind Alex's Entity for most of the journey and they should fight out the finish.

Allen Icarus is never far away and he has the good draw, he has been placed in 11 of 18 here and another placing looks likely.

Crackerjack Rose rounds out the chances, she beat the talented Samus Allen here two runs back and a repeat of that effort would see her give the favourite a scare.

Very open race and I think we can find some value with the improving Jagman. During November/December he enjoyed a great stretch of form when scoring three consecutive wins on the country circuit and all of those victories were in impressive times. He likes to scout wide in his races and he can show early speed, at even money odds he is worth an investment.

Fleetwood Jay is likely to settle on the speed and he has the class edge, in recent weeks he has been taking on much stronger company and he hasn't been experiencing a lot of luck, with a good getaway tonight he should make a big impact.

Stylish Baroque has the good draw and she should run a cheeky race, whilst Polly Bale is a highly talented speedster and if she gets a clear run in the first 50m she can show some improvement.

Rashad Reason has been placed in three of his past four here and he is overdue to break through. He is suited by the wide draw and the speedy Fourth Choice should give him a nice cart across in the early stages. He has won here previously in a solid 30.39 but I think he is capable of going much faster when on the lure.

Ulla Allen is armed with a big finish and she has a solid record here, last time out she powered to the line for a commanding 30.30 Cranbourne win and if she settles in the first half of the field she will prove hard to hold out.

Fourth Choice is armed with early speed and if he can cross he will give a good sight, he does have a smart 30.15 PB here and that type of run would be enough to score here.

Top Four: 8 – 5 – 7 – 6

Suggested Bets:
