Race 1 – 525M Grade 5 Heat – 7:15PM

Oscura is a class act at his best and with an ounce of luck in the first 50m he will prove too good for these. Last start at Sandown from the same draw, he managed to step on terms and he found himself very close to the lead at the first bend. He later managed to real in the talented Premier Event in a more than handy 29.76. This race doesn't appear to have a whole lot of depth and he really looks a good thing.

Dyna Fancy is the likely leader in the event and if she can reproduce the effort which saw her win here in 30.16 earlier this month, she will prove very hard to reel in. Obviously the last 50m is always a concern with her but she is likely to have a comfortable lead. Ozzie Bullet looks the other danger in the event, his record here isn't flash but he has been racing in much stronger company of late. Especially is a former class sprinter but she has been really struggling. She has the ability to cause an upset if she can regain some confidence.

Top Four: 1 – 7 – 5 – 4

Suggested Bets:

Trifecta: 1/4,5,7/Field ($18 for 100%)

Exacta: 1/4,5,7 ($3 for 100%)

Race 2 – 525M Grade 5 Heat – 7:37PM

Dyna Beth appears well graded in this event and if she can get away cleanly she should make light work of her opposition. Two starts ago she pinged the lids and reeled off a slick 5.03 to the first mark at Sandown before going down by less than a length to gun sprinter/stayer Dyna Kayla. There are clearly no Dyna Kayla's in this event and if she can cross she should get the cash quite easily.

Galahad has been racing in consistent style of late against strong opposition and he too should be suited by the drop in class. He is very hit or miss at box rise but his past two runs at behind Allen Malik have been hard to ignore. Outside of the top two it is quite an even affair, however Airbound is an improving type and he has the ability to cause a boil over. Last start he hit the line solidly here and he could be a value bet to run a place.

Top Four: 8 – 3 – 5 – 7

Suggested Bets:

Win bet on Dyna Beth

Trifecta: 3,8/3,8/Field ($12 for 100%)

Trifecta: 8/3,5,7/3,5,7 ($6 for 100%)

Quinella: 8 to rove with 3,5,7 ($3 for 100%)

Race 3 – 600M Grade 5 – 8:00PM

Abbey's Hand has been a little disappointing of late but tonight she has a suitable wide draw and this race isn't overly strong. If you go back through her form, she has turned in some monster performances behind the likes of Kang Bale and Mermaid Princess and she is much better suited over the 600m trip.

Outside of Abbey's Hand it is a pretty even affair. Crafty Maisy, Hession Boots, Gemstone Jack and Blue Viper all have potential to feature. I've decided to put Crafty Maisy in for second, last week over this trip she in a prominent position before getting poleaxed and with a clear run she would have figured in the finish. Hession Boots beat a class field at on Tuesday and he will be hitting the line very hard. My only concern with him is that he will get a long way back in the early stages. Blue Viper can't win but she is a great chance to run a place, she refuses to go past the leader in her races but she is rarely far away.

Top Four: 6 – 7 – 5 – 8

Suggested Bets:

Boxed Quinella: 5,6,7,8 ($6 for 100%)

Exacta: 6,7/5,6,7,8 ($6 for 100%)

Trifecta: 5,6,7/5,6,7,8/1,5,6,7,8 ($27 for 100%)

Race 4 – 525M Grade 5 Heat – 8:20PM

Humphrey Bale has a top record over this trip and he looks to have the edge over most of his rivals. Three starts ago he led all the way in a handy 30.18 and it appears that he should have sufficient speed to cross again tonight. He has broken 30 seconds here before and a similar run would be enough to salute in this.

Lethal Three is better known for her staying prowess, however from the rails draw she should be able to settle closer to the pace than normal. Prior to commencing her staying career, she had recorded a number of fast sprinting wins. All In Troy must be kept somewhat safe as he is a fast beginner and he has been racing in strong fashion on the country circuit, whilst Dyna Fulcrum is always thereabouts in this type of company.

Top Four: 8 – 1 – 2 – 6

Suggested Bets:

Win bet on Humphrey Bale

Trifecta: 1,8/1,8/Field ($12 for 100%)

Quinella: 8 to rove with 1,2,6

Race 5 – 525M Mixed 4/5 – 8:37PM

To kick off the quaddie we are going to have a short priced favourite off the red, however I think he is going to be under the odds and it may be worth taking him on. Reckless Brown could put some value into the quaddie, three starts ago he beat the talented Kraken Classy in convincing style at over 500m and he is normally very reliable at box rise. He has won here in a solid 30.43 previously but I think he can go a little faster on the bunny.

Blurred Lines is the obvious favourite and if he steps cleanly and leads he will get the cash. I'm willing to take the chance that he misses the kick from the red alley. If we are going wide in the quaddie, it is worthwhile to put in the likes of Squall Bale, April Rose and Sisco Good. Sisco Good has been racing in strong company of late and he should get a nice cart across from Reckless Brown in the early stages.

Top Four: 6 – 1 – 7 – 4

Suggested Bets:

Win bets on Reckless Brown and Sisco Good at the value.

Boxed Quinella: 1,4,6,7 ($6 for 100%)

Race 6 – 600M Grade 5 – 8:57PM

In what is a high quality affair, it is really hard to look past the in form Searle Bale. Last week from a similar draw at Sandown she shanghaied out and set a scorching pace before recording a 34.08 victory. In that event she never looked in doubt and with a similar beginning tonight she should repeat the dose.

Tick Bale looms as the obvious danger after he scored a commanding 34.62 Geelong win last week. On that occasion he had to overcome some difficulties early but once he got into some open space he really powered to the line. Musquin Bale is a classy type and must also be respected, however tonight's box draw will definitely work against him.

Top Four: 8 – 7 – 6 – 5

Suggested Bets:

Win bet on Searle Bale

Trifecta: 6,7,8/5,6,7,8/1,2,5,6,7,8 ($36 for 100%)

Race 7 – 525M Grade 5 Heat – 9:20PM

Allen Gravion has been racing with minimal luck and success of late but I believe he is capable of a lot more. He has been missing the kick and finding bother, but he has still been hitting the line hard and is threatening to win races. Tonight I'm anticipating that he may step away a little better and he may in fact be in front or in the top two as they head into the first bend. I believe he is around a 30 flat to 30.10 dog untouched and that should be enough to win.

Amadeus Strikes is all class and she is another who hasn't experienced a lot of luck recently. If the outside division don't come across too quickly she should be able to follow Allen Gravion across in the early stages and she will make her presence felt. Jersey Jack and Trail Blazing both have big motors but they will both need to getaway on terms and avoid any trouble early.

Top Four: 4 – 5 – 6 – 7

Suggested Bets:

Each Way Allen Gravion

Boxed Quinella: 4,5,6,7 ($6 for 100%)

Quinella: 4 to rove with 5,6,7 ($3 for 100%)

Race 8 – 525M Grade 5 Final – 9:40PM

Exciting sprint prospect Shamus Allen is unbeaten in seven starts, with his latest four victories being here over this trip. Although he is a keen railer and therefore drawn poorly tonight, he has shown enough early speed in his recent victories to suggest that he will have no trouble crossing. His heat winning time of 30.11 was solid, but the most impressive part of the victory was his ability to pick himself up after copping a big knock soon after boxrise.

Shoulders finally showed Victoria what he has to offer with a sizzling 29.94 heat win and obviously if he repeats that effort he will take a power of beating. The only concern with him is that he is not the most reliable of beginners and he needs room in the first 50m. American Muscle continues to impress and work his way through the grades. Box six is not ideal but I would expect him to get back in the field in the early stages anyway.

Top Four: 8 – 3 – 6 – 1

Suggested Bets:

Trifecta: 8/1,3,6/Field ($18 for 100%)

Exacta: 3,8/1,3,6,8 ($6 for 100%)

Race 9 – 525M Grade 5 Heat – 10:05PM

Tasmanian superstar Hellyeah Bolt has come across to the mainland and appears well graded in this event. A winner of 23 from his 37 starts, this black speedster should have no trouble finding the early lead and scoring a commanding win. He resumed from a month off with a top 30 flat win and he should be even better for that effort. You won't see any flashy odds but he is simply better than these and it is worthwhile anchoring him upfront in your exotics.

Vanger Bale is making his fourth race appearance and he is obviously quite inexperienced, however he really caught my eye when winning at Sandown Park recently in a slick 29.64. He isn't blessed with a heap of early speed but he has great mid-race pace and he can make his presence felt. Lektra Brave has been flying over the 390m trip at Ballarat and he has no issues with the step up to 525m as he has won here previously. Keep an eye out for any betting moves on NSW chaser Gaudi, prior to his recent run of outs he showed tremendous potential and he may be able to find his feet for his new kennel.

Top Four: 4 – 5 – 7 – 3

Suggested Bets:

Trifecta: 4/3,5,7/Field ($18 for 100%)

Trifecta: 4/3,5,7/3,5,7 ($6 for 100%)

Quinella: 4 to rove with 3,5,7 ($3 for 100%)

Race 10 – 525M Grade 5 Heat – 10:25PM

Very tough race but I have settled on the trained Billy Rocket. Earlier in his career he was a very reliable beginner, however of late he has been a little inconsistent. Tonight I'm hoping he can ping the lids and if he leads at the first bend his opposition will find it hard to reel him in. Three starts ago he won at Cranbourne impressively in 30.40 and earlier in his career he did post a PB run here of 29.94.

Coulta Rock looms as the danger based on his sizzling 29.52 Sandown Park win two runs ago. On that occasion he missed the start but he then showed a tremendous turn of foot to as they headed into the first turn. If he can avoid trouble in the first 50m he will definitely make an impact. Heidi Go Seek and Al Moran are both class chasers and if either of them happen to ping the lids they should play a part. Overall it's a very open affair and it may be worth backing a couple of runners at the overs.

Top Four: 4 – 6 – 5 – 3

Suggested Bets:

Win bets on Billy Rocket and Coulta Rock (should double your money at worst)

Race 11 – 525M Grade 5 Heat – 10:42PM

Fort Allen set the track alight at Geelong recently when recording a 22.31 win over the 400m journey. On that occasion he showed dazzling mid race speed and he hit the line strongly. I know there is a big difference between 400m and 525m, but he has won here in the past on six occasions and I expect that he will have a big lead off the back straight tonight.

Mepunga Fearon is the obvious danger. He has scored three brilliant wins on the trot and he seems to be getting away a lot quicker at present. He has been placed in three of his four tries over this trip and with some luck early he should add to his consistent stats here. Punch It returned to form at Geelong recently with a top 34.66 win and she is probably better suited back to this journey and can run a big race at odds.

Top Four: 2 – 4 – 3 – 7

Suggested Bets:

Win bet on Fort Allen

Exacta: 2,4/2,3,4,7 ($6 for 100%)

Trifecta: 2/3,4,7/Field ($18 for 100%)

Race 12 – 525M Grade 5 Heat – 11:02PM

Herbivorous is showing plenty of potential and he appears to be getting stronger with every run. His last two efforts have seen him record placings at Geelong over 460m in very and I think tonight he should be able to get a very cheap lead. He should go around at the $7 or $8 mark and appears to be great each-way value.

Bing Gordyn is drawn to run a monster race, however he does tend to find a lot of trouble and he doesn't like to be crowded in his races. If he can get an ounce of luck in running he should be in the finish. Veetee Turbo had no luck when resuming from a spell recently and he should be much better for the run, whilst Kerrigan Bale looked super impressive when scoring at Cranbourne recently in 30.13.

Top Four: 2 – 1 – 7 – 5

Suggested Bets:

Each Way Herbivorous

Boxed Quinella: 1,2,5,7 ($6 for 100%)

Quaddie

Leg 1: 1,3,4,6,7
Leg 2: 7,8
Leg 3: 4,5,6,7
Leg 4: 3,8

$80 for 100%)
