Thursday’s Addington greyhound tips & odds | March 30, 2023
High-grade racing returns to Addington again on Thursday evening, and with a cold front passing through New Zealand at the moment, the greyhounds will know winter is just around the corner. First race is set down for 4:40pm NZDT.
Best Bet: Who Gives (Race 1)
The bet of the day comes early in race one with another progressive type coming out of the powerful Fahey kennels. Nothing has got near this fellow in his last four starts, and again he was too strong last time out in a Class 2 final, winning by four lengths and clocking 17.12 seconds. He is a big dog that makes his own luck. He has a slow trapper to his outside and should make this another stepping stone to the top grade.

Next Best Bet: Goldstar Carlito (Race 9)
Goldstar Carlito last raced in an Auckland Cup heat 11 days ago, and after not beginning the best and then getting lost around the first bend he was unable to pick up and get into the finish. He will enjoy being back on a more familiar track this evening. There is an empty box to his outside which should give him the necessary room to accelerate, and with a personal-best time of under 30 seconds he is more than capable of bouncing straight back into the winner's circle.

Best Value Bet: Diamond Warrior (Race 3)
Diamond Warrior has been racing in tougher company most recently and was successful the last time he dropped back to a straight Class 3 field. He has been beginning quickly and then battling on afterwards. He should cross over again, and without as much pressure into the first bend he should have a head start on the stronger finishing greyhounds down the back straight. If he nears his personal best time of a tick over 30 seconds, then he should be the one to beat at some each-way value.
