Townsville dogs preview

is set to host 12 races on Tuesday night from 6:52pm local time. There's two cracking heats of the series, where top local trainers Brad Belford and Rhonda Essery will unleash some promising young dogs. We've also got the Easter Sprint Final over the 380m, where Senor Yogi will start a long odds-on favourite.

Best Bet: Saint Remi (Race 2)

Saint Remi will look to a big betting drift to knock over her maiden off a five-month spell. Formerly located in Brisbane and trained by , Saint Remi now resides in Townsville under the care of Brad Belford. She had six starts across Albion Park, and with the best of those being a 20.20s second-place effort at Capalaba on debut. Due to a marring charge in her last outing at Ipswich, the cards have been shown as Saint Remi conducted a ' trial last fortnight where she recorded 29.06s over the 498m. By no means is this run slick; however, considering the opposition she faces here, it appears heads and shoulders above their exposed form. Elarbee Leo has disappointed since heading after a fair debut at Geelong. Likewise, Saint Remi's kennelmate Warbel Harry was ordinary on debut when recording a walking 22.95s. From the low draw, given a clean run, it's safe to say Saint Remi will run around the 22.00s, which will demolish this field.

Next Best: Home Slice (Race 3)

will be out to repay punters after going down as a $1.50 favourite last start. Jumping from the black box, he began on terms but was unable to cross the runners inside him and was ultimately checked toward the rear. Home Slice won't have to worry about crossing runners here as he assumes the red box. In his four career starts to date, he has won his maiden in a fair 22.03s and followed that performance by going down a nose in 21.92s to Ritza Pete. Red Car appears to be the main threat; he ran second to Home Slice in his maiden victory and has since followed with a win of his own in a slow 22.28s from the red box. With the gun draw and clear class on his side, our pick should account for his rivals easily.

Best Value: Pretty Cindy (Race 6)

Three in a row will certainly look Pretty on Cindy as the two-year-old daughter of Mr Redeemer steps up to the 498m. The ex-Victorian showed ability from the get-go, recording a sharp 21.85s win at start two in North Queensland. After that, she has been rocks or diamonds, either winning or running last for the past six months. All this considered, her recent form is undeniable – and if previous form is anything to go by, it's best to jump on the train while she's hot. She's recorded consecutive wins over the 380m from the pink box in 21.79s and 21.88s respectively. The step up to 498m appears the right move as she's thundered home over the past fortnight and will run the trip no problems. Tannymorel Lass, drawn inside, began well last week from the seven and looked to crash across, which will assist Cindy in the early stages of this affair. Given she can get herself into the race, she appears the best value on the program.
