Wentworth Park betting tips

Wednesday night is the night the greyhounds fly at Wentworth Park and this week will be no exception, as there are 11 top-quality races including the heats of a maiden series and the flying Christmas Dash over the 280m distance. Blink and you will miss these absolute speedsters. Toss in a nice masters' race and a mixed grade, and a quality night of greyhound racing awaits you trackside. As always, we will endeavour to find you a few winners.

BEST BET: Vamoose (Race 9)

really has this boy racing well of late. flew over the longer trips at and The Gardens before leading up a third-grade race here and getting overrun late. He was terrific during the Chase (part two) earlier this year, leading up in his heats and semi-final before just running out of legs in both races. He has won over the longer trip in 30 seconds dead, and in doing so ran flying sections and set up a big lead and fell in. This boy loves to be drawn off the track, so box eight will be superb for him. From the outside two boxes he has a career record of eight starts for five wins and two placings. He will stay out wide out of trouble early and then sweep across them at the turn and he will Vamoose off with the prize.

Danger: Wishing loves the Wenty 280m — she has been here five times for four wins. She ran the better of the two races here last week and has two flying times over the shorts before that. Box six is the concern however where she is none from nine and that is worrying but she is so much better than that stat and hopefully for Ray Thomas she shows that.

NEXT BEST: She's Savage (Race 8)

Young trainer Jessica Savage brings her Futurity fourth-placegetter She's Savage back to town. Two best-of-day performances over the 272m in flying time and a very narrow defeat at the hands of her long-time sparring partner , who pipped her for the podium of the 1 here back in January, should have her cherry ripe for this event. Her box eight record is not fabulous, with only one placing from three attempts, but her narrow defeat was her first look at the 280m here and she should improve a little. So after a tilt at some better races up in Queensland and a four-month spell, it looks as though She's Savage has lost none of her zest for sprinting and could well zip away with another good win for Team Savage.

Danger: Digger's Magic is a free-for-all class sprinter that has just been a little lost in his last two runs here. However, he is two wins and two seconds from four inside draws and does possess classy early pace when he nails that start. If he comes out running, he may well hold the speedy outside division and get his first Wenty Park win.

BEST EACH WAY: Dixie Hawk (Race 5)

It appears to have taken Brendan Anthes a little bit to work this girl since acquiring her, but her last two starts at Richmond have been good enough to suggest that he has finally done this and she is set for a big run tonight from her favourite box, where she has two wins and a place from four starts. She will need to miss early, who does show pace and runs right up the track, but if she can just sit behind him when he heads up the track, she might get the best run of the race. With a couple of well-fancied young dogs drawn out wide, she offers definite each-way value.

BEST ROUGHIE: Little Bronte (Race 6)

We tipped her as a danger last week and she did what she does best — get back, find trouble through the first turn and flash home. She almost paid double figures for a place last week, so hopefully you found her and she should be at those exorbitant odds again. She will need a lot of luck from this draw, but if there is trouble in the race and she can stay in touch early, you know she will be coming home the hardest of them all. At the odds she will be, it is well worth the gamble.
