Wentworth Park tips and best bets

It's time for the heats of the time-honoured and Bob Payne Sprint this Saturday night at Wentworth Park. Some quality dogs are looking at their chance to take home some Group 3 glory; add in a few 5th Grade races and we have a jam-packed programme on the cards. Good luck with your investments and we hope we find you a winner or two.

Race 1: NSW GBOTA Welcome 4th/5th Grade 520m

Tachycardic will appreciate the drop back in class from the Easter Egg and MDC series in this race and is nicely drawn in the 2, has a good record here but a bad record from box 2. Short Ticket comes back to town for the first time in the hands of Chloe Bilal after switching from the Lord kennels. Was good at Goulburn and Dapto but this is a step up but is well drawn and 2/2 from box 1. Kiwi Fantasy is capable but his 1/15 record here is a worry. Asiram is in astute hands and ran a flying B.O.N at Dapto last start beating the Dapto MDC qualifier in the process, awkwardly drawn but . Lagoon Dark Eyes did everything asked at his first run here last week and is a chance. While Four Five rarely runs a bad race but is desperate for the fence.

Race 2: Ladies Bracelet Heat 1 Ladies Bracelet (G3) Non Graded 520m

McKeon Bale is the interesting runner up from Victoria and her last run was impressive flying around Sandown. There is some pace in this race so won't want to be tardy early. Coco Model is back form an injury layoff and if Andrew Bell has her at her best she will be pinging as she does and leading for a long way. Lightnin' Ethics is another with good early zip and demolished a good field here a couple of weeks back in good time. Drawn to get the fly down the middle and will be the one to beat. While Judith Richardson will collar up Butterfly Angel who has been low flying lately at Dapto and is another with good early pace looks to repeat that here at H.Q on debut. Elle Yeah has ability but seems to find trouble here.

Race 3: Ladies Bracelet Heat 2 Ladies Bracelet (G3) Non Graded 520m

Ties That Bind was sent out at very short odds last week and was fairly away but just didn't muster and was swallowed up at the first turn. She might not have that trouble from box 1 but she doesn't want dogs crossing her to the fence either. Miss Hilo has tons of early zip and may just cause the red some trouble early and might be leader in this heat. Especially Rare has been good in weaker races and Pebble's Girl doesn't win out of turn but is very consistent and Rockstar Waimea is only 5 starts into her career and in good hands so they obviously think she's up to this. Kelsey Bale is the obligatory Victorian and has decent form outside of her Launching Pad tilt, awkwardly drawn and will be afforded no errors.

Race 4: Ladies Bracelet Heat 3 Ladies Bracelet (G3) Non Graded 520m

My Mate Kate won the at box rise and gets that same draw here tonight. Neville Brown has his chargers flying and she might be able to hold them out to the first turn in this heat. Bandit Jane in the strong Lord kennel has only had 5 starts and has finished 1st or 2nd every time this is a step up but must be respected. Rockstar Sue is another Shaun Evans youngster who has been going really well at Nowra recently. is another young bitch having only career start number 4 and came out here at her first race here and went BOOM leading all the way in fast time. Not as well drawn but box 4 is no hindrance to a girl with pace. Black Zambora has been going well but this is tougher and Fascinate Mel is 2/2 from the pink and will appreciate the room will need to lift on the clock.

Race 5: Ladies Bracelet Heat 4 Ladies Bracelet (G3) Non Graded 520m

Flash Banner has been flying early at and the 530m there really tests her but a tight 520m here might be right up her ally and if she leads will be very hard to run down. Flash Martini had won 3 on the bounce before the final and Puppy classic runs. Has enough pace to get a beautiful run in this and lob in the perfect place. Good Odds Emma is probably the classiest runner in the race but is awkwardly drawn tonight with pace all around. Aim for Aria has a good strike rate but this is harder and Zambora Tiger is flying at and box 8 usually suits Maitland greyhounds. She has pace but would need to find the front to worry these.

Race 6: Bob Payne Sprint Heat 1 (G3) Non Graded 520m

Simply Limelight bounced back to his best although the time wasn't flash, but he does hold a very good 29.7 P.B. here. If he can begin he can overcome the awkward draw. We Back will appreciate being on the outside and is 2/3 with a placing from box 7 never had the pink but I think it will suit his racing style. Springview Hawk is honest but would need to lift. Robotnik is the strong dog but will need some luck from box 4 What About That has a big motor but often gives away too much start. Spring Meteor is honest and will appreciate box 1.

Race 7: Bob Payne Sprint Heat 2 (G3) Non Graded 520m

Agland Luai has run some nice races here off wide boxes and it will be interesting to see how he handles box 1 is a win and a second from two goes at the red box and has the pace to hold them out into the first turn. Flighty Fernando has just found one better in the puppy classic series since switching from the Finns to young trainer Chloe Bilal and has enough ability to worry these. Grim Madara finally paid off the punters that had deep pockets with a good win last start and he may be ready to go right on with it now. Cumbria Days has ability but this is harder and likewise Cartel Master who quite likes a wide draw and has run a 30.14 from this box.

Race 8: Bob Payne Sprint Heat 3 (G3) Non Graded 520m

Plaintiff just couldn't quite get across here on his W.P debut but there is no Big Opal Rocks in this. I expect him to show that dash early and lead all the way in this one. is going well since returning from a fall and is well boxed out wide in this. Sunnyside Boy's form is better than it looks and is the brother of French Martini and is a good chance. Mac Ibrox is very strong but is often very tardy too and Quinlan Bale the Victorian has been racing in good company and his last start was his first from box 1 and won it well so is definitely one to watch.

Race 9: Good Luck Lawrence 5th Grade 520m

Hardman Cortis has been racing so well of late but I would prefer him drawn down closer to the fence, but if he crosses and find the fence could easily win this. Father Rick's win last start here in 29.8 would be good enough to win this but he will get pressure from his outside with the 7 looking to go left and if the 6 and 7 create problems for themselves the Springview Chief who loves the red rug (7 placings from 7 tries) could just slide along the fence lead and skip away with this race. Smokey Cape can show pace but this is tough and Una Herrera is another that can show pace but would need to cross and skip away.

Race 10: Stay Strong Stapo 5th Grade 520m

Bandit Butch has been doing well on the southern tracks but his record here is only average box 1 may be the key and if he can begin like he has been should be a big chance in this. on the other end of the box draw is dropping back from the MDC series and will appreciate a friendly 5th grade race and her only start from the outside was a close 2nd to her brother. Black Fox is another coming back from MDC duties and drew a tough heat so will appreciate this field and can show good pace on her night. Cruise or Lose rarely runs a bad race and Tap Out Diesel is the strong dog but may give too much start to some of these but will be there with some luck.

Race 11: Ladbroke It! 5th Grade 520m

Joseph's Coat's run behind Tiger Jack here last start was superb and a repeat of that would see him win this open final race. He clocked 29.8 getting beaten and will probably start favourite. Zambidis has been good before running into a hot MDC heat. Rebel Ethics has had a promising start to his young career and will appreciate being draw near the fence and is a big threat. Direct Mae can show pace but struggles here and Lagoon Max has talent but also struggles here at W.P.
