Wentworth Park preview

Saturday night is set to be sensational, if not a bit soggy, at with 10 top-quality greyhound races set down for decision. A very nice non-graded race worthy of a final is on the card, as well as some heats of a 1-4 wins fifth-grade race and a nice staying race to boot. As always, we will do our best to help you find some winners at nice odds.

Best Bet – Nangar Archie (Race 8)

This son of Kinloch Brea and All Too Fancy has been flying of late for Caitlyn Brewer with a couple of scorching wins at and Dapto in his last three from both inside and outside draws. The run at Dapto by Nangar Archie was one of the quickest fifth-grade races there for a while. He has been to town on a couple of occasions for two placings behind some very smart Zipping dogs, and even when placing he ran decent times. With a slow beginner drawn inside of him he might get the whole centre of the track to use as he pleases and race away with a very winnable restricted-class event.

Danger: Little Miss Kade can show pace if she begins well in a race that only really has a couple of early speed dogs. She could well hold the lead into the first bend, and on a wet night that might just be the place to be.

Next Best Bet – Fat Boy's Charm (Race 7)

The Fat Boy finally draws his box in a very winnable race for him. He drops right back to fifth grade after taking on some of the best greyhounds in training at the moment in his last few starts. Fat Boy's Charm flew home late to just miss Bandit Jane three starts back in the heats, and then no one could believe it when he pinged the lids and led in the final only to be run down by the flying Zipping Orlando in a very quick 29.65. He was then $30 when he took on a red-hot Black Top race at The Gardens from a very unsuitable box eight. While it is a guarantee that he won't be anywhere near that price tonight, he has been racing so well recently for and deserves another change of luck. From his favourite box, where he has won four from seven with a minor placing, he will be desperately hard to beat.

Danger: Good Odds Buzz has been doing everything right for . She had her first go at 500m in six months last Saturday night and pinged the lids and held off our value selection, Jill Doo. No reason she can't ping and lead again tonight, but can she fend off Fat Boy's Charm if she does?

Best Value Bet – Whitely (Race 10)

has had absolutely no luck in his three appearances at Wentworth Park, having been wiped out at the first turn on each occasion. If Amanda Durham has him fit and ready and he has taken no ill effects mentally from those runs here, then he will be a major player in this race and likely at good juicy value odds. If you forget his three Wenty appearances, he was four wins and three seconds from eight starts. He has only had one start from box seven for a win and has two ordinary beginners either side of him, and he may get more room tonight than he has ever had here. His two wins at recently were top quality and he has so much more to show around here. Hopefully, tonight is the night he paints his masterpiece at great value odds.

Best Roughie – Cartel Master (Race 2)

If this were the Cartel Master of 10 months ago when had him flying, he would probably be in the ‘best bet' section. Since suffering an injury mid-year he just hasn't quite regained that flying form for young trainer Chris Green, but he is on the improve and getting fitter and now draws a box that just might help. He has broken 30 seconds around here – the best PB in this race – and will be at massive odds, so he might just be worth a ticket in case he can recapture some of his past glory.
