Race 1 – 520M Grade 5 – 7:27PM

Ritza Ruby is a promising speedster and she really caught the eye when placed here last start. In her previous two victories at , she had stepped cleanly and in the first two, however last start she found herself well back in the field early but she still managed to hit the line hard and she only went down narrowly. Obviously the first 50m is crucial but she has had a few weeks off and being fresh she should be able to get away a lot better tonight.

Lochinvar Akira is another exciting talent and she is dropping back to the more suitable sprint trip. Last start she contested a 715m event at and she clearly didn't have enough petrol to run out the trip, however against the stayers she was able to get out in front and gain a little more confidence early. If she can step away like she did last time she should find herself in the first couple early. Tautology is a very fast animal but he has been a little costly in his brief career, he likes to get wide in his races but if he can step cleanly he should have sufficient room to get out wide and into some open space.

Top Four: 5 – 6 – 1 – 3

Suggested Bets:

Win bet on Ritza Ruby

Boxed Quinella: 1,5,6 ($3 for 100%)

Exacta: 1,5,6/1,3,5,6 ($9 for 100%)

Race 2 – 520M Grade 5 – 7:50PM

Flip The Weapon was ultra impressive when being narrowly beaten here last week and I think he will go one better tonight. He has proven to be a reliable beginner in recent times and he has the luxury of a wide runner drawn directly outside. If you can snag around $4 that is good value.

Spirit To Excel looms as the likely danger, last week he stepped away fairly but the smaller field allowed him to muster speed into the first turn. In that event he went down narrowly in good time and he is sure to improve on that run, considering it was his first look at the track. Shanlyn Patch likes to scout wide in his races and he appears perfectly placed in the seven. Two starts ago he went through the first marker in 5.34, a repeat of that will see him lead again tonight but the last 40m is the worry.

Top Four: 6 – 3 – 7 – 1

Suggested Bets:

Win bet on Flip The Weapon

Trifecta: 3,6,7/3,6,7/1,3,4,6,7,8 ($24 for 100%)

Boxed Quinella: 3,6,7 ($3 for 100%)

Race 3 – 520M Grade 5 – 8:08PM

I know he hasn't been travelling too well and he is a shadow of his former self, however I think former star Take It All may have found his race. His form looks pretty ordinary but in his past few runs he hasn't experienced a lot of luck, from the pink he will get plenty of room early and the speedy Avondale Zena should carve across early and make the race for him in the first 60m. I'm unsure as to what price he will start, on form he should be around the $6 mark but with the pink draw, the smart punters might give him one more chance and they might jump on.

Avondale Zena looks the danger and if she shows her customary pace she should run the quinella. She consistently runs 5.40 to the first marker here and that should be enough to cross early. Knot Telling Ya is the value in the event, he has been racing with minimal luck of late but tonight he has two slow beginners drawn underneath and that should allow him to find the rail easily. He will be double figure odds and he may be worth a saver bet. Apollo Reign must also be included in your exotic bets in what is an intriguing affair.

Top Four: 8 – 7 – 3 – 6

Race 4 – 720M Grade 5 – 8:27PM

One of the toughest races of the night and that means I'm going to settle on the likely leader Queen Marina. She has recorded two placings in her past three runs here and the latest was quite impressive. After finding the early lead, the classy Dusty Moonshine got to her pretty early but she still managed to stick on and went down by ‘only' six lengths. There are no Dusty Moonshines in this event so if she finds the front again she will take some running down.

My Asuncion has the good draw and she is never far away in her races, you can never put her on top but she is almost a lock to run a drum. From the red she should settle in the first three and she will likely pressure the leader but she will refuse to go past it. Gotta Problem and Luzaka Icon have been racing in solid fashion of late and both must be included in your exotic bets, they are likely to get too far back early to be winning threats but they will hit the line hard.

Top Four: 4 – 1 – 6 – 8

Suggested Bets:

Win bet on Queen Marina

Trifecta: 4,6,8/1/Field ($18 for 100%)

Trifecta: 4,6,8/Field/1 ($18 for 100%)

Quinella: 4 to rove with 1,6,8 ($3 for 100%)

Race 5 – 520M Grade 5 Final – 8:50PM

In a race which features a number of front runners, I've decided to go with the strong Aurora Girl. Her heat winning time of 30.21 isn't very impressive, however she did come from last to score and in the process she had to overcome numerous difficulties. With a heap of speed drawn underneath, she should be able to find the rail in the first 50m and as they all fan at the first turn she should be able to rail through to 4th or 5th as they head for the back straight. When she gets some clear running she will go into overdrive and she will make her presence felt.

Zola Icon should settle in the first two and she looked very impressive when scoring a slick 29.90 heat win. My only concern with her is that she may have to work very hard in the early stages and she may not have enough petrol in the tank to hold off Aurora Girl. Our Lady Di will most likely hold the early lead, however she will stop to a walk in the last 50m. She has won here previously in 30.02 and if she can get anywhere near that she should be able to kick on for a place.

Top Four: 5 – 2 – 1 – 7

Suggested Bets:

Win bet on Aurora Girl

Trifecta: 2,5,7/2,5,7/1 ($6 for 100%)

Trifecta: 2,5,7/1/2,5,7 ($6 for 100%)

Exacta: 2,5/1,2,5,7 ($6 for 100%)

Quinella: 5 to rove with 1,2,7 ($3 for 100%)

Race 6 – 520M Mixed 4/5 Final – 9:12PM

Easily the most exciting race of the night, superstar in the making Tommy Brislane takes on the in form and up and coming star Miss Sueko. I've gone with the class of Tommy Brislane, in recent weeks he had continued to impress with some brilliant wins but last week he went to another level with a 29.51 heat win. On that occasion he showed tremendous early speed and he then went into overdrive off the back straight before hitting the line six lengths clear of his rivals. It's a shame he isn't in Melbourne contesting the Maturity heats as I think this bloke would be one of the pre post favourites.

Miss Sueko had always showed great ability, however in recent weeks she has easily exceeded expectations. Two starts ago she scored a scintillating 29.68 win here and she then followed that up with a 29.67 win, if she gets away cleanly it will be a great between the two favourites. Lochinvar Impact must not go unnoticed either, he is a highly talented prospect and he will be a contender in class races in the future, unfortunately he isn't as brilliant as the other two early and he will need the breaks in the early stages tonight.

Top Four: 7 – 3 – 1 – 2

Suggested Bets:

Trifecta: 7/3/Field ($6 for 100%)

Trifecta: 7/1,2,3/Field ($18 for 100%)

First Four: 7/3/1,2/Field ($10 for 100%)

First Four: 7/3/Field/1,2 ($10 for 100%)

Race 7 – 520M Mixed Event – 9:35PM

Chica Destacada returns to her favourite track and she looks perfectly placed to get back on the winners list. Tonight she finds herself in a race which lacks genuine early speed and she should have no trouble crossing to the early lead. If she reproduces the effort which saw her stop the clock in 29.49 in late May, the even money tonight will enormous over's.

Gradence has been a quality performer for a while now and unfortunately for connections he always seems to bump into one better on the night. Tonight looks to be the same scenario, his past few runs here have been fantastic and I would expect him to be charging home late again, I don't think he can reel in my top pick but he should be able to snag the quinella spot. Bessy Boo has been racing in brilliant form but like Gradence he will get back in the field early. With Chica Destacada expected to be a long way in front, he should be able to pick off some tiring runners in the home straight and he should round out the trifecta.

Top Four: 7 – 6 – 3 – 2

Suggested Bets:

Trifecta: 7/6/2,3 ($2 for 100%)

Trifecta: 7/2,3,6/2,3,6 ($6 for 100%)

Exacta: 7/6

Race 8 – 520M Grade 4 – 9:57PM

Raincheck has been racing in strong fashion in recent times and he appears drawn to get the gun run. My is expected to lead clearly and as he likes to track wide, Raincheck should be able to rail through at the first bend and I would expect him to take over as they head off the back straight. He scored back to back sub 30 second wins here in June and a repeat of either of those runs will see him feature in the finish.

Clout Ten turned in a monster performance when placed behind star chaser Tommy Brislane here last week. Although he was beaten by just under seven lengths, his personal time was still around the 29.90 mark. With a clean getaway he should settle fairly close to the lead and he will be putting some pressure on the leaders as they turn for home. Zambora Magic is a gun chaser but his box manners can let him down, with an ounce of luck at the first turn he can make an impact. My Awesome Opal will lead for a long way but he really folds up in the last 30m, he may be able to hold on for a place.

Top Four: 2 – 5 – 6 – 1

Suggested Bets:

Win bet on Raincheck (very on this one)

Trifecta: 2,5,6/2,5,6/1,2,3,5,6,8 ($24 for 100%)

Exacta: 2/1,5,6 ($3 for 100%)

Trifecta: 2/1,5,6/Field ($18 for 100%)

Race 9 – 520M Grade 5 – 10:17PM

Tough race but I think Clonakilty Man can return to the winners list. After recording two handy placings here he had a two month let up and he should be primed to fire first up. He has won three of 11 over this journey and his PB of 29.78 is highly impressive. This is probably the weakest event he has contested for a while and with an ounce of luck early he really should get the job done.

Snow Shiraz is the run on dog in the event, he has been racing without luck over the 600m journey of late and I think he is better suited back to this trip. He is going to get a long way back but there are quite a few runners in this event who really struggle to run a strong 500m so he should be able to pick them off late. Envy has a fair bit of talent and she should run a cheeky race at odds also.

Top Four: 5 – 2 – 3 – 7

Suggested Bets:

Win bet on Clonakilty Man

Trifecta: 5/2/Field ($6 for 100%)

Trifecta: 5/Field/2 ($6 for 100%)

Exacta: 5/2,3,7 ($3 for 100%)

Trifecta: 5/2,3,7/Field ($18 for 100%)

Race 10 – 520M Grade 5 – 10:35PM

Tough race to finish the night but the promising Flying Morson should be rewarded for his recent consistency. After scoring a handy 30.15 win here, he has been runner up to two up and coming stars and he should appreciate the big drop in class. His chances hinge on him being able to lead but he has recorded sub 5.40 to the first marker and that would be more than enough to lead these.

Inner City could be the value in the event, he has been racing in solid style of late and he was narrowly beaten in good time here last week. He is suitably drawn out wide and a repeat of last week's effort will see him in the mix at the end. Jenmar Power is another in consistent form and he is more than capable, the only concern with him is that he can be slow to begin at times and from the middle pin he may get shuffled back soon after box rise.

Top Four: 3 – 7 – 5 – 6

Suggested Bets:

Boxed Quinella: 3,5,6,7 ($6 for 100%)

Exacta: 3,7/3,5,6,7 ($6 for 100%)
