Wentworth Park Greyhounds Tips & Betting Preview May 3rd 2014

Race 1 – 520M Grade 5 – 7:27PM

Invidious is an explosive talent when on song and tonight he gets to make amends on his two luckless runs to date. In March/April he scored two sizzling wins in 26.35 and I think he can run sub 29.80 on the tonight.

Ready To Riot hit the line strongly in her 29.71 win here last week and if she can get through the first bend unscathed she will be a major player again. My only concern is that she can be slow to begin at times. Usaine and Rained both have small claims, whilst Vee String will be in the market but I don't think she will get the trip.

Top Four: 6 – 8 – 2 – 1

Suggested Bet: Win bet on Invidious.

Race 2 – 520M Grade 5 – 7:50PM

Velvet Flame is armed with slick early speed and she looked ultra impressive in her two recent sub 30 wins here. Tonight there isn't a great deal of early speed drawn underneath, so she shouldn't have too much trouble crossing.

Prince Tanga is perfectly drawn out wide and he is much better than his recent form suggests. He should get a nice cart across early and he is worth a saver bet at double figure odds. Derek Shepherd is expected to start a short priced favourite but from the middle pin I think we can take him on tonight. Father Skeeta and Being Good must be treated with respect also.

Top Four: 7 – 8 – 3 – 4

Suggested Bets: Win bets on Velvet Flame and Prince Tanga.

Race 3 – 720M Grade 5 – 8:10PM

Folk Tails was recently sharpened up with a handy 520m effort here and tonight from the rails draw she should get every chance. A railer, she should get a perfect sit early and a repeat of her 42.56 win here in March will see her get the cash tonight.

Pumped Up Zarr has the clear class edge but he is a better chaser when on the lure, I'm expecting him to find a bit of bother early, but I still anticipate that he will be a major player once he balances up. In my opinion, Camouflage Model is no chance of running out the journey so you can leave it out. Kim Keeping has returned to her best of late so she must be included.

Top Four: 1 – 7 – 4 – 2

Suggested Bet: Each Way bet on Folk Tails, very confident it will finish top two. Great race to open an account at Sportingbet to take advantage of the $100 in free bets.

Race 4 – 720M Grade 5 – 8:27PM

Gold Hunter is making his 700m debut and he has given every indication that this trip will suit. Tonight I am expecting him to settle much closer to the speed and mid race he should put a space in them. Obviously the last 50 metres is the only query, however I think it won't pose too many problems.

Yellow Fever has been racing in consistent style of late and this looks to be a big class drop. He will get a long way back early but I'm expecting the field to break up a fair bit so he should get plenty of room to allow him to weave through the field. Clan Annie has claims also, she has the ability to lead or come from off the speed, they look to be the only winning chances.

Top Four: 5 – 4 – 6 – 1

Suggested Bet: Unleash on Gold Hunter, this really looks his race. Sportsbet is offering ARG readers $400 in free bets. Open an account and load up.

Race 5 – 520M Mixed 4/5 – 8:50PM

Electro Storm hasn't won for a while but tonight he faces a big class drop and although drawn awkwardly he should get a clear run early. Woods is expected to ping the lids and go , so he should be able to follow him across in the early stages and from there on his class should see him draw away from the field.

Classy Sahara is hit or miss early and even if she misses tonight, she should still be able to get a nice sit behind the early leaders. In late March she recorded a slick 29.81 win here and a repeat of that effort will see her feature again. Include Woods in all your exotic bets, expected to lead but the last 50 metres is a big challenge for him.

Top Four: 4 – 1 – 3 – 6

Suggested Bet:

Trifecta: 1,4/1,3,4,6/1,3,4,5,6,8 ($24 for $1)

Race 6 – 520M Free For All – 9:12PM

The speedy Magic Display was a tad unlucky in heat of the last week but tonight she should get her chance to atone. Clearly the best beginner in the field, she should burn to the early lead and it's hard to see her getting reeled in running sub 29.80.

Chica Destacada has won three of six tries here and has a sizzling 29.73pb. Normally a reliable beginner, she should settle just behind Magic Display and will look to apply pressure mid race. There won't be too much separating them at the line. Gradence will hit the line hard and he is worth anchoring for third and fourth in exotics.

Top Four: 6 – 2 – 1 – 8

Suggested Bets: Win bets on Magic Display and Chica Destacada.

Race 7 – 520M Grade 4 – 9:35PM

Zipping Tess has had little luck of late and tonight from the red draw she should be able to punch through and lead. On the lure she is capable of running smart times and if there is a shuffle up at the first bend she should be able to steal the prize.

My Boy Snoop has scored two brilliant wins here of late and both times he has powered to the line, I think he may be giving Zipping Tess a big head start but if he gets clear running he should make it interesting. Billy Buzzard and Scout's Gold are capable of causing a boil over.

Top Four: 1 – 2 – 5 – 4

Suggested Bets: Win bet on Zipping Tess, rove in quinella with 2,4,5.

Race 8 – 520M Ladies Bracelet Final – 9:57PM

overcame some early difficulties when scoring an impressive 29.87 heat win and again she has drawn well in the red box and with loads of pace drawn out wide she should be able to get through the first bend relatively unscathed. Her PB of 29.47 shows that she has a fair bit on these talent wise.

Rose Of Galo looks the early leader and she was far from disgraced in her solid heat placing. Tonight I'm expecting there to be a fair bit of trouble behind her at the first turn so she might get away with a big lead. Ritza Hattie should still reel her in but Rose Of Galo is a great quinella option. Zipping Summah also has strong winning claims.

Top Four: 1 – 8 – 2 – 5

Suggested Bets:

Trifecta: 1/8/Field ($12 for $1)

Trifecta: 1/2,5,8/Field ($18 for $1)

Race 9 – 520M Grade 5 – 10:15PM

I think we can find some value in this event. Soaring Eagle will be around the $10.00 mark and tonight he exits from a favourable wide draw. There is early speed drawn directly underneath and that should allow him to get a nice cart across in the early stages. Definitely worth an each way bet.

Apollo Reign is the run on dog, he has been racing without much luck of late and tonight faces an enormous drop in class. He is probably the most talented dog in the field, however he just needs an ounce of luck as they head into the first bend. King Sapphire should set the speed so he must be included in the your exotics.

Top Four: 7 – 2 – 6 – 8

Suggested Bets: Win bets on Soaring Eagle and Apollo Reign.

Race 10 – 520M Grade 5 – 10:37PM

Rangi Ruby has been racing in much stronger company of late and tonight she is surprisingly well drawn in the middle. Magic Galo drawn in box four is expected to ping to the lead and that should allow Rangi Ruby to follow her across in the early stages. She should be good odds tonight and hopefully she can get us out on a high.

Magic Galo will set a cracking pace but she will hit a wall in the last 60 metres. I don't think she can hold off Rangi Ruby but she will have a big enough lead to hold on for a place. Tainted Luke and Mrs. Chitty Bang look to be the other winning hopes.

Top Four: 5 – 4 – 6 – 3

Suggested Bet: Each Way bet on Rangi Ruby.

Quaddies

1,3,4,6/2,6/1,2,4,5/1 ($32 for $1)

1,3,4,6,/2,6/1,2,4,5/1,2,8 ($96 for $1)
