Race 5: Golden Easter Egg Semi Final 5

The early pace may well decide this heat and will most likely come from , Fascinate Mel and Where's Bon Bon. Tip against “The King” at your own peril, but he might find these a fraction slick for him. The Mark Delbridge pair, Landyn Bale and Kaheem Bale (number 9 into box one) will both need to improve but should both do so after having their first runs here in the heats. Both will get nice trails into the race, but can they chase down the hot speed? Where's Bon Bon just couldn't hold off the swoopers in the heat, but that was her first ever 500m start and she will improve for that run. While Peacock was slow out and just kept improving but would need luck from that draw. The early speed battle will be key. If Yuko Girl can hold out Fascinate Mel and Where's Bonbon, then she should go on to win.

Race 6: Golden Easter Egg Semi Final 2

In a race where there is no real blistering early pace. showed enough early zip to suggest that he will get a dream run off the inside box and if he can post another 29.4 sec run, they won't be running him down. Custard Monelli was very good in his first look at the vastly different track than he is used to and with improvement might be the one to sit on Len's hammer early and he is very strong. Simply Limelight is perfectly drawn to get a dream run behind the two pacy runners; he is all class, extremely strong and deserves a shot at Group 1 glory. Canya Smoke Them will be strong to the line but the bird may have flown by the time he winds up. Cumbria Days, and are all drawn on the wrong side of this field and will need to nail the start to have any chance of advancing.

Race 7: Golden Easter Egg Semi Final 3

It's always difficult to tip against an out-and-out champion and make no mistake that is what She's A Pearl is. That word gets bandied about far too liberally these days but the People's Champion will do everything in her power to defend her crown, unfortunately she is not the same greyhound she was twelve months ago but she is honest and tough and will need to be to advance. Wyndra All Class was all class in her heat win, sectional times suggest she can lead again in this and once on the bunny she is very hard to beat. Yachi Bale was superb in his Wenty debut. He did so much wrong and still only got beaten a nose by King Krygios in good time. With improvement and a better draw he will be extremely hard to beat. Embrace won the (a Group 1 race) of this box in July and was stunning in her heat win. You won't see $20 about her tonight. Baby Jaycee is abundantly talented but will need luck form the draw and Hurricane's Fury and Ritza Donna have that punchers chance of going through.

Race 8: Golden Easter Egg Semi Final 4

Victa Damian couldn't have been any more impressive in his heat win. He doesn't draw well in box seven, but is three from three here and is all class. Damian will prove hard to beat again. Elite Alex was an extraordinary run, as he was smashed in his heat and still picked himself up and qualified. He will get a much nicer run from this box and can fly from inside draws watch out for him at value. The Rockstar dogs are flying and Apollo is one of the best but he needs to lift against the best in the biz. Wiradjuri Jack is an improver but this is a tough ask. Lady Devine might get a nice cart across from Damian and find herself a rough hope in this. Father Rick won't get the breaks he got in the heat but there is always one fairy-tale dog. Is it him this year?

Wentworth Park best bets – Saturday, April 1

Best Bet: Korda (Race 3)

This is an extremely tough final heat of the Group 1 Association Cup. The Victorians have a tremendous record in this race and they will be cheering on for Jeff Britton. He has a great ability to stay the entire trip and will be running the race right out. His recent middle-distance form is superb, and if he stays out of trouble, he should be going very close indeed – especially if the leaders tire.

Best Value: Street Of Dreams (Race 9)

This boy didn't get much luck last week when knocked out of the Egg heats. He will need a touch of luck as he is not the best beginner in the world. While he may be moderate early, he is one of the strongest and fastest finishing dogs in training. If he gets around the first turn without getting flattened, he will be going two to their one in the final 100m. At the juicy double-figure odds in early markets, this guy is great each-way value.
