With a week to go before the 1 Vic Peters Classic and Peter Mosman Opal heats, will host 10 top-quality races from 7:27pm on Saturday night. It’s great to see two staying races on the program, and it’s the last chance for next week’s Group 1 contenders to strut their stuff. Australian Racing Greyhound has cast an eye over the fields and come up with a couple of selections for you.

Race 1: Toodles Jack (1)

Veteran trainer Syd Swain believes this boy is one of the best he has ever trained, and he has had plenty of good ones over the years. Toodles Jack is now four wins and a second from seven starts at Wenty and is one for one from the inside. If he begins well and can hold Lorraine Jacky out to the first turn, he should win well and earn a chance at next week’s Group 1.

Race 6: Nangar Larry (2)

beat Ned Al Sheba on merit two starts back and then turned in a run to set a new personal best here last week. He has 11 wins and 10 placings from 27 runs at Wentworth Park, and they have all been in top grade. He will need to get across Ned Al Sheba in the run to the first turn, but if he manages that, Nangar Larry should win this race.

When comes out of the boxes humming, she can beat the best dogs in the country; however, she can find trouble and has had a string of bad boxes lately. Yet with eight wins and seven placings here and the ability to lead this field easily, Frankie is certainly worth a small ticket at double-figure odds with the top greyhound bookies.
